I guess i'm getting my driving licence in a few months, if all gos well. Obviously I won't actually get a car/be driving till my mid 20s, probably, and even despite really not giving a shit about cars, ii'm already fantasising about which one I want.

I want some old, crap and american. something in a horrible brown colour with rust all over it. an old chevrolet, sedan or oldsmobile. something that wouldn't look out of place in detroit or, alternatively, cuba.

You?

I have a fiat punto

It's a mix between mint and olive green. Very odd colour.

But i really, realisticly want a pegeout 207GTi in cherry red.

Just warched Top Gear so.....

Bugatti Veyron 16.4

i share

a blue corsa at home, and when it comes to buying my own i'll be quite happy to have something else small with a 1 litre engine purely to keep the insurance down! Being male and under 25 isn't good in automotive terms

being under 18 in a 1.2

and male really doesn't help either.

Just something boring that'll fade into the background

and I won't look a knob driving. Take note?

no.

Pontiac Firebird

Early second generation, so a 1971 or 72 model.

In red.

Yeah.

Pretty cool.

Looks more like a late 70's model though, which is when they started using different engines.

oh...

yeah, i have absolutely no idea about how they actually work, I just want it to look cool.

So old, american and square looking is what i'm after.

I reckon

you'd like something like a 1968 Ford Thunderbird.

Or a 1968 Lincoln Continental Mark III

Nissan Almera Hatchback 1.4i

even though it's the "ambition" edition it's red, not cool & and the chicks certainly do not dig it

On the other hand, it NEVER goes wrong, has a/c, hits 90mph with relative ease, and when you strap yourself in, stick Avril Lavine "Girlfriend" on the stereo and put your RayBans on all the worlds woe's ebb away

Living in london = no car = :(

None.

I can't drive.

I want a Yamaha R1. In my dreams. But a friend of a friend crashed his similar sized motorbike head on into a car, and ended up in a coma for three months; if an expert biker like him can't handle a beast like that, I'll be damned if I'm going to try.

But I miss the bikes SO much. Spring is particularly bad because you see them out on the roads all the time :(

I have no interest in cars

so long as it gets me from A to B then I don't really care what I'm driving.

They're just tools.

But you can say that about so many different things.

A Guitar is just a 'tool' from some points.

better question:

what fashion statement do you make with your choice of hammers?

my dream car is a ford capri

someone who lives on my road has an orange one with go faster stripes down the side. Its pretty special.

this:

http://tinyurl.com/69eyjf

just to see if you could make it scrape on its sides by leaning over into it too much on roundabouts

almost any audi

or an old saab 900

but most of all
a citroen ds

like this http://www.classiccars.de/Oldyrent/plz7/images/71665.jpg

I have aaaaaaa

02 Fiesta Zetec MKIV 5 door 1.4 in metallic silver.

Quite nice for a first car. Shame about the coming together with a lorry I had in Northampton really.

VW Polo TDI right now.

Used to have a VW Golf V5, but it was just guzzling fuel at a laughably expensive rate.

Hatchbacks are ultra practical for me as I R surfer/snowboarder/mountain biker, if I had a bit more money I'd get a VW Golf R32 even though they're a bit ridiculous.

May get an 05 plate Volvo V50 in a few months.

I can't drive

but when I do eventually pass my test I would like to have a pre-BMW Mini Cooper Sport 500.

A fine choice, they're beautiful cars

my friend has one.

It's basically the closest you can get to real life Mario Kart!

I'm fussy on the colour, mind

It HAS to be black, with a silver roof and bonnet stripes. And four lamps on the grille.

I have:

a Suzuki Liana, 54plate, similar to that featured on Top Gear. It only has a 1.6l engine. It's a great car, but has high emissions.
I would LOVE a new shape Audi TT (as well as my Suzuki, for runaround). I just need a spare 24k.

OR:

a mini clubman. those are the sex.

Do you mean the new Clubman?

I like them, but the passenger door opens on the wrong side for Brits!

the mini clubman

is fucking horrible.

i hate it. hate hate hate. i was working at BMW when it was released, possibly doesnt help!

oh yeah!

BMW M5 fuck yes

sadly i'll be inheriting my dad's old toyota corolla now he's bought a bloody mx-5 (and when I can be bothered to learn how to drive)

call

yourself an indie!?

ok ok

i'll drive one of these instead (terrible pun alert)

Yes!

Modern cars have no soul to the design.

The only time I ever think having a well-paid job might be worth it is if I get to buy something like this:

http://www.danheller.com/images/LatinAmerica/Cuba/Cars/cars-d-big.jpg

It's absolutely amazing to look at. I don't care if it chugs petrol like a bitch and handles like a bath from an episode of Last Of The Summer Wine - I want.

Currently I've got a Toyota Yaris. It drives well, and is Very Reliable. But it's so fucking dull (not to mention the only other people I see driving it are old women).

I agree with you that modern cars have no soul to the design

and I'll fight you for that car!

My dad's toyota aygo at the moment

till I go to uni. Then nothing till I can be bothered to buy my own car!

that looks lovely

I have a big thing for citroens, cause my dad has always bought citroens. We used to have this amazing one called an xm. It was the smoothest ride, ever, so comfortable. Apparently lovely to drive. Problem was that the hyper expensive pneumatic suspension which made it so nice developed a fault, and was too expensive to fix, so we sold it on to someone who could afford to.

i fucking love citroens

that one i posted the link to was the one they bought Maserati for, so they could use their engine. it bankrupted them. Johan Cruyff bought one though.

i love the Renault 4 too. anything a bit odd and French gives me a boner. not Gerard Depardieu though.

None.

I have a fugly 96 Dodge Neon

I can't complain; I got it free when my gran died.

I have a

1.4 VW Polo which is about 11 years old, slightly battered and, as it turns out, needs a new gearbox. Still love it though, it's my first car.

Insurance wasn't too bad, considering I'm only 22. Lucky I'm a girl.

i'm not really fond of driving.

i like daydreaming, and if i couldn't walk to places then i wouldn't be able to do this as much. I've had a full licence for about six years and never really bought a car properly. I'm insured on my mums car and i occasionally drive my friends but i really shouldn't. I generally don't enjoy being in cars, it's too much of a confined space for me. If i had a really well-paid job then i'd buy a friend a car and pay them to drive me about when it needed doing. I like sitting on trains, and busses, and even riding bikes. I've never looked at a car and though wow, i want one of thoses, and i've never really wanted to look under the bonnet of anything or drive fast. I guess i though get my testosterone levels tested?

I have a Mini

And not one of those new BMW imposters - a real proper original mini

And it is awesome nad i love it more than anything else

1974 Ford Capri.

i too have a mini

a proper one and its great.
but it is just so 'hiya' isnt it, i wish it could be a mini one day of the week, and just a normal car the rest of the time.

A 1956 Cadillac Coupe de Ville

a '56 Chevrolet Del Ray 2 Door or a 1957 Dodge Royal Lancer. I don't care if they can't turn around corners, they look really cool.

I have a

06 silver punto... it's good for petrol and insurance but it's very boring.
I would love LOVE a Nissan Figaro

I want a car

I had a driving test but I failed because I broke the speed limit going down a hill. Then I went to uni and didn't have time to learn again.

I learnt to drive in a Peugeot 206 diesel turbo which was pretty nifty.

i have a peugeout 206 red

i don't recomment 206's because they break down a fair bit, mine's been in service twice.

A purple 9 year-old Ford Ka

but I would LOVE a Morris Minor 1000 or a Citroen 2CV SO much!

I drive a Honda CRX

1980's sports cars are where it's at:

http://tinyurl.com/6mgyor

I have some white wheels on the way, plus it's going be totally slammed at some point, which will improve the handling no end.

I have an Audi A4

but if reliability, practicality and time wasn't an issue i'd get a Citreon DS in a shot.

Simply the best looking car ever.

I don't have one.

And I probably never will.

I don't want a car

even though I have had a license for about 10 years... If I did I would get one like the one in Wayne's world, or a VW van for festivals

I have to hand in my Dissertation on Thursday

I want someone to do it for me.

A Rover 200 in racing green

It has a tank-like gear box.
The central locking button doesn't work properly on my keys often meaning I'm stuck with my car immobilised for mintues at a time.
The fuel gauge is inaccurate, as I found out last week when I broke down in rush hour traffic causing a bottle-neck in the road.
The fan settings don't work meaning the dials spin round indefinitely.
Because of the latter problem I have to keep a rag in my car so I can wipe the windscreen like it's some kind of 1920's-mobile.
I had a radiator leak which lead to my head gasket blowing up.
Since that happened I have to fill up my water tank up before every journey so that it doesn't overheat.
The windscreen wipers are abysmal and smear the windows if anything.
The CD player (despite being brand new) won't let me input my MP3 player meaning I have use some shitty radio-band-connector-device which has interference problems.

Part from that it's grate.

Anyone want a Rover 200 in racing green?
£900!

dunno

something that looks nice and works well.

I have no idea how people can be so fascinated by cars. I mean, I quite enjoy driving most of the time but I just don't get the stereotypical male obsession with motor vehicles.

Citroen

C1, cheap everything, insurance, road tax £35 a year, good on fuel
