Blur v Oasis - I'm sure this has been done hundreds of times before, but, well, never by me and I'm new here. For me there was never any contest - the trophy rests in Colchester.
I know Oasis are still going but listening back, Blur's material is generally more challenging and thoughtfully put together, not to mention catchy and clever. They are hard to pigeonhole into a particular style apart from the v.early stuff. Oasis are/were obviously exceptional but to me there are a smattering of corkers and a lot of similar material. Blur still sounds new today.
An old debate revisited?
