Hi. I'm a bit of a lurker and I tend to love reading all the threads you guys make about film.

I know the majority of you are clued up, and so I was wondering if you could help me with an assignment I've got on Hitchcock from college.

I'm studying the roles of women in his films. Sounds a little vague, I know, but of a few in particular: 'Eve Kendall' in North By Northwest, 'Marion Crane' in Psycho and 'Margot Wendice' in Dial M For Murder.

Which character, would you say, gave the most memorable role?
What do you think makes that performance stand out above the others?
Do you think Hitchcock ever intentionally portrayed any of the girls in an intentionally harsh, cruel or on the other hand, a pleasant way? Why?

Feel free to mention any other Hitch films involving notable female performances too!

And also: thanks so much. If anyone does take the time to do this, I would be seriously over the moon. Thanks again guys.
