by my forum i mean the other forum i frequent. She took loads of stick on that forum and was definitely bullied by a lot of people who didnt even know her. Its hard to say whether it contributed to her decision to commit suicide but it cant have helped.
So i guess when people say "its only the internet" some people dont see it that way and still take things to heart. Sad really.

with some forum members and her personal life got dragged out over the internet, and immature boys found it funny to make fun of her. She was defintely an unstable person and brought some of it on herself though.

also, cutting yourself isn't suicidal. it's not the same thing as this thread is about, so why on earth should i be ashamed for joking about her doing so - and she was kidding when she posted that, she was being as flippant as we were.

Then began loads of stories of her using her looks to get dumb guys to give her money and teach her how to play poker. She got the reputation of being a whore. Then a couple of months ago the guy she'd been staying with said she disappeared stealing all his stuff.

Before I came back to DiS I was posting heavily on a forum for people with autistic spectrum disorders, (was DXed back in January and needed to let off steam about it). I basically quit because I found the sexism too much to bear.
Anyway, while I was on there, there was one actual suicide, as well as multiple occassions of people posting about killing themselves and then getting talked out of it. There were also links to convicted murderers accounts on the forum and the disturbing things they'd written.
Too much for me.

the internet just gives people to say what they like and not really see the effects, a lot of people use that to be rude to people and stuff.

I've recently met a girl on a forum who's really fucked up. She tells me about these really depressing hotels in America, and about all kinds of legal and potentially lethal drugs she gets. She's started cutting passages out of books and posting them to me. I find it all pretty exciting. I'm pretty happy but i've always found the subject stupidly intriguing.
