Hi

I couldn't go in the end but my friends said that the ones they enjoyed were Fanfarlo, Noah & the whale, Wild Beasts, Slow Club, Bobby Cook, Wombats and SixNationState.
Disappoints - Ispo Facto, make Model and Tellison.

How about for you?

future of the left

on both days were brilliant.

everyone else i saw (elle sappelle. this city. lets wrestle. dioyy. los camp. florence & the machine).) was good apart from some awful band called The Dirty Feel or Wheel or something similar.

didn't get to see that many bands but i still had an amazing weekend.

tellison were amazing

on friday night. i saw fanfarlo twice and they were far and away my highlight. i also managed to catch bobby cook, bombay bicycle club, youthmovies, ida maria, los campesinos, the wave pictures and s.c.u.m. quite a successful weekend really.
i was, however, unfortunate enough to see a bit of lowline at the electric ballroom. they were awful.

'Twas much fun

I rated - Does it offend you (tiny bar - big sound), Bookhouse Brothers, Robyn & Ladyhawke

I slated - Team Waterpolo - god awful lyrics!

Bookhouse Boys...

...not brothers. Johnny Foreigner were good too...

Excellent

Another band with a Twin Peaks reference. They'd better be good.

camden queue

no!

highlight = Tellison

disappointment = clashes and only being able to see 4 bands. everyone i saw was good, especially j j pistolette who played during the daytime and sky larkin on the dis stage.

shame there were so many clashes, ended up missing half the bands i bought the ticket for.

yeah.

why did they only have 4 slots! they could have staggered it. as it was there were 3 half hour gaps where no-one was playing anywhere apart from the koko and electric ballroom.

agreed.

and i thought the stuff in the daytime was poorly advertised.

i know that's the point of 'crawl' but i really couldn't be bothered to go past purple turtle or barfly at the other end too.

agreed

they really could have published timetables of the daytime stuff. as it was i only saw bombay bicycle club by accident.

double agreed

All the clashes made me sad! But i suppose at least it meant I watched the whole of a band as opposed to running after 15 mins to catch another..

Make model = disappointment.
Horray for Youthmovies:)

had quite a productive friday

ended up seeing (across the whole weekend) team waterpolo, gus cox, rosie oddie, hadouken, pull tiger tail, ipso facto, youthmovies, metronomy, sham 69, we are the physics, lowline, duels, effi briest, lykke li and cage the elephant.

thought ipso facto, youth movies, WATP and duels were great.

"sham 69" and lowline absolutely dreadful.

Went for the weekend...

and saw Slow Club, Sky Larkin, Johnny Foreigner, Tellison and The Noisettes on Friday, and Winners, Los Campesinos!, Elle s'appelle, Jim Gipson, Lykke Li, Slow Club and The Dirty Feel on Saturday. Thirteen bands is a pretty good return really.

Highlights were Johnny Foreigner and Tellison both of whom I have seen play better previously, while Lykke Li was wonderful (Robyn coming on and singing from a slip of paper was not).

Low points were Winners and The Dirty Feel neither of which are really my thing and were actually part of fringe events rather than the real thing. Jim Gipson wasn't great either really and was the only act that I left before the end of (not including Los Camps as I had to leave to see Elle s'appelle in time).

A good weekend really.

Despite the twats on Saturday

Highlights

Ida Maria @ Koko Friday
Lykke Li @ Black Cap Friday
Fanfarlo @ Bullet Saturday (despite endless technical issues)
Slow Club @ Oh Bar Saturday

As the whole weekend wasn't about what I wanted to see so I caught Royworld, The Rushes and Fox Cubs as well and none of the were awful.

Lowline were though and S.C.U.M. were unintentional hilarious.

and Johnny Foreigner

forgot about that at the incredible bendy floor/ceiling in The Enterprise on Saturday.

How Los Campensinos! fit on that stage I don't know.

saturday only

highlights: noah & the whale / fanfarlo
disappointment: cage the elephant

also saw duels who were great, bookhouse boys and los campensinos! who were alright

Future of the left

were awesome, so we were we are the physics, metronomy and youth movies.

the answering machine were not bad, robyn and does it offend you yeah? not great.

gutted i missed johnny foreigner.

cracking weekend, but yeah too many clashes and queues but was to be expected.

Best bits

Death Cigarettes, Esser, Backhouse Boys, Metronomy @ Black Cap, Lykke Li/Robyn

Low points: Kid Harpoon, Make Model, Sam fucking Sparro.

All good for me

Camped out at the purple turtle on friday were I was stood up by Cutting Pink with knives, enjoyed Post War Years, was charmed by Lets Wrestle and loved Crystal Castles. Then went over to Koko as i'd lost my line up and 5 people convinced me the Maccabees were playing. Imagine my horror when after an hours wait Robyn turns up....

Robyn is great

highlight for me...

..was easily future of the left on saturday.
saw tronic youth (sp?), youthmovies, rolo tomassi and future of the left friday.
then los camp, lovvers, future of the left and metronomy sat.
metronomy was far too busy and had a fair few idiots in there which was disappointing.

Ok show, shame about the songs.

The Dirty Feel et al

I attended the (new) Monarch and saw a bunch of bands, including 'The Dirty Feel', whom were, without doubt, the highlight of the evening. I enjoyed several of the other bands too. It's cool everyone has their favourites, but some of the people on here are just corn-fed NME-bitches, whom would shit their skinny-jeans if they ever allowed themselves to hear different kinds of music, as opposed to what they're told to listen to by certain populist music press... Laters

me so horny!

Haunts...

were bloody brilliant.

Few highlights and lowlights

+ Amazing lineup
- Too many schedule clashes

+Relaxing with a cold beer watching music
- The cartel of over £3.50 PINTS going on at EVERY PUB

+ Seeing all these diverse people walking around in various ensembles
- Realising it merges all into one and everyone is attempting to have the "be in a band alt look"
+ ^that being amusing

+ Lykke Li's awesome peformance
+ The sheer electricity in the room for Cage the Elephant
Also awesome performances from: The Dirty Feel, Fanfarlo, Bombay Bicycle Club, Pull Tiger Tail

Dissapointed with Ida Maria, KOKO was too big for her i guess and Effi Briest i guess is a grower but liked the alternation between the instruments - great hairy armpits too ;)

I hope

I am not a " corn-fed NME bitch" sir.
Best bits were Slow Club, Bombay BC, Metronomy and a super duper DJ set by Goldierocks.
I also liked Kid Harpoon despite the comment above.

Ipso Facto

were great in fact.
