I think it's a combination of factors:

1) A lot of good people have left.

2) A lot of rubbish people have joined.

3) THE ROLLOVER/POP-UP ADVERTS.

4) Sean's obsession with George Pringle.

5) The creeping corporatism of the site.

That said, the adverts, refrsh thing and ridiculous slowness are all reet shite.

I think the adverts are annoying.
I find it annoying that there are DiS franchises opening up everywhere.

Importantly - it is all relative. "In my day..." threads are annoying.

But yeah, various funny/intelligent people have either left or don't post as much. Circle-jerking also seems to be going through a revival at the moment, which is a bit pathetic.

- It's too slow at lunchtimes. And when you get there things don't seem to have moved on from the night before.

I like some of the new users, they make me giggle.

My workload has increased 50% in the last two months, so I rarely get time to look during the day - but if it takes over a minute to load one page when I do get a chance while eating at my desk, I can't be too much arsed anyway.

Shame. I get less LOLs a day now.

- massive adverts
- rubbish design and it is slow and unreliable (neither of which ever get sorted)
- less intelligent threads (whatever people say about GG at least he often provokes people to debate things)
- seems to be more dominated by a smaller number of people, and they aren't the funny people that used to dominate the site
- I still quite like it though

The thing is I used to cause a little debate on here but only because I was an immature prick, I may not be as interesting (on these forums, not in real life) as I used to be but I prefer not pissing people off for no real reason.

i think the problem is thus: every single topic of interest has been covered a million billion times before, as have the topics of almost no interest. So users who've been here for more than a few months have seen it all before. At least the social board has a vast number of topics to cover so can remain fairly fresh whilst having mass appeal. The only thing which can do this for the music board are recent newsworthy stories (which tend to boil down to "illegal downloading - yay or nay?") and recent large scale releases (where discussion has become fragmented between early adopters with nothing much to say and later commenters who've missed the interest train)
