New Music Alert:

"Saturnalia" by Gutter Twins (Mark Lanegan and Jeff Dulli)

Bottom Line- Very decent but not a classic or must have.

The record has Techno-ish rhythms in spots which is surprising treatment when you consider the Gutter Twins are the "daddys" of two great pure and clean rock bands- Sreaming Trees and Afhghan Whigs.

I'm not quite recommending it (yet), but if you are a fan of Mark or Jeff- Get It On!

and who's Jeff Dulli?

is that Greg's brother?!

Is this a joke?

the record has a techno-ish rhythm on one song if thats what you think is techno

Well, as I am not a professional record reviewer

what I meant to say was that the musical motifs of "Saturnalia" don't exactly fit the modis operandi of these artist's past offerings- in my view- THEEREFORE, NOT A JOKE!

and as I have but a BASIC understanding of reading and writing English:

You will see a lot of typos and such in my postings. *THEREFORE, NOT A JOKE!

no, Jeff is a typo

Greg Dulli, an artist I'm quite familiar with but just can't remember his name properly.

i think

it is a really good record with a handful of great songs. gods children, when dulli launches his vocals, is fking brilliant. worth getting a copy of, and if you have affection for both artists as i do for their past work, you get a good feeling from seeing them enjoying themselves - as they clearly are - whilst retaining relevance.

i really do like this record

but I was expecting a bit more from two heavyweights like Lanegan and Dulli. Idle Hands has to be my fave song on this album.

idle hands

my favorit track too.

Whatever

it's just a cd I bought.

all of the twilight singers

albums have had electro influences/production in places

^ thanks

that's what I meant
