I have been folowing there stuff for ages mind and I like what I've herd. It is either gona be really good or Bleepy as fuck and bore quickly.

falls into the latter. All the songs just run too long to the point of annoyance.

Crystal Castles are overrated
They make okay music but are not worth an iota of the praise that is heaped upon them.

Kap Bambino
are fucking immense, the album is well worth it, especially if you've forked out for Crystal Castles... which is good, but not immense. A crucial distinction.

I recommended them in a CC thread not long ago but didn't get much response. Kap Bambino are ace. The album "Zero Life, Night Vision" is ace.

Artist gains NME cover, indie kids throw their hands in the air.
The album is good. How can you criticize an electro/dance album for containing longer than normal tracks!?
I'd say 3 or 4 of the tracks are very disposable, but out of the 15 there's more than enough there to give it a good go.
To be honest
It's not groundbreaking or anything. But it isn't offensive either. It's just fun.
Get the new discJokke album instead... now THAT's an impressive album!
Completely missing the point...
NME claim they are one of "the bands driving music foward"... nope, they're driving it down the plug-hole.
I have no idea about the album
because I don't generally buy albums, but their 7" singles always seem to be worthy purchases. In fact, for some reason they've ended up meaning quite a lot to me, I don't know if its just because I used to dance to them lots last summer. I've read the NME interview too, and whilst claiming you got sounds no one else has may be a little bit pretentious they're certainly quite distinctive.
I also like Kap Bambino which some people have mentioned, but they do grate a bit which I find less with Crystal Castles.

Crystal Castles are a big part of probably one of the most lively electro scenes in the world right now (Toronto). Just because they're on an NME cover and being sold to an audience over here doesn't mean they are of little importance to the electro scene as a whole.
There is sometimes an fickle notion on this website that because something has outgrown it's own scene, that it then becomes merely something that casual fans like. Not true.

the crystal castles album is really, really boring. It really exposes their limitations, both technically - in terms of programming etc - and also as songwriters.
It's all style and no substance.

they are brilliant live.
i also think it's a great album. They've been swept up in the hype created by all things nme etc etc.. but don't hold this against them?! if you like it you like it, if you don't you don't.
