I think that band helped to validate the overblown, overrated Grunge Scene. Superunknown is a hallmark album, seems like Rusty Cage, Superunknown, Black Hole Sun and Limo Crash were my favorite songs. Fantastic singer who could peel the paint off the walls. I liked the videos from that record too.
... you include down on the upside as in the same league as superunknown shows me you perhaps dont appreciate the same things from that album that i do. which is entirely possible.
i saw soundgarden live at reading, they were crap. terrible sound mostly.
I would really like a Soundgarden t-shirt. I used to own one, but I appear to have loast it. I was once headbutted outside Our Price in Edgeware whilst wearing it.
just listening to it on the ipod now thanks to this thread, not heard it in a while, top album, Badmotorfinger is probably my favourite but this comes close!
Its very excellent
I still play it a fair bit
Great
album. It's all about Let Me Drown and Fell On Black Days.
Spoooonmaaan
come together with your hands!
Classic album!
I haven't heard it in ages

i think..
....badmotorfinger/superunknown/down on the upside is a golden trio.
the fact that....

but that album, maaaaaaaan......
Absolutely
Agreed!
See also, Alice In Chains: Dirt, FNM: Angel Dust
Still my favourite album
of all time. Listen to it on average at least once a week. Still.
awesome album
was listening to it just last week.
yeh one of my favourite records
of all time
so much rock in so little time
Love this album!!!
Big time!!
Yes!
I also love this album lots! I tried to find some of its greatness in Audioslave...but it wasn't there.
their best I think
was practising the drums along to this on the weekend - matt cameron's awesome.
mostly great, great album. could have happily dropped a few tracks though I think.
i went to see Soundgarden on the Superunknown tour !!
In Manchester, it was the week after kurt cobains suicide!!
Soundgarden were awesome and so were Tad who supported.
I wouldnt mind a Soundgarden reunion now Chris is done with his Bond themes.
Amazing album.

*lost* it
.
memories...
in my first ever relationship, black hole sun was "our song".
bit depressing...
i haven't listened to that album for a while now.
these boards are giving me great nostalgia of late.
Good call!

Definately one of
the best albums of the 90's. Probably the only album of this era that I still listen to regularly. And I think it's better than Badmotorfinger.
Awesome album
Even if it is outmuscled by Badmotorfinger in my eyes.
Anyone know if Thayil's up to much more at the moment barring supplying guitar for the Saturday Knights album?
Its a fantastic album!
But i think the follow-up - 'Down On the Upside' - was just as good.
I never was into Soundgarden
until this album came out. Still, not one of my fave 90s bands, but this record rules.
I was listening to this last night.
ON MINI-DISC! yass...
