Maybe four nights of gigs consecutively was a bit too much :(
what gigs you been to?

retribution gospel choir on monday
forward russia on tuesday
youthmovies last night
soulwax tonight
they were all so good.
I'm trying to work out what's the latest I can get to work tomorrow, and not seem like I've got there too late
cool
i've not got anything until 4 in the afternoon :D
should really get some reading and stuff done before that htough
at points tonight
I wished that I was still a student :(
Luckily my manager usually doesn't make it in till 9.30/10ish, and usually I'm there before she is.. so it'll probably be OK if I turn up a bit late.
Still, I'll probably wish I was still in bed in the afternoon :(
i'm at work
where did you get cheese & chips in London?
*cardiff
i dunno, i just followed the others really
...
I'm writing essays. I need synonyms for the following words
distort
disallusion
disengage
encourage
cynical
I'm buoyed by the fact that these days I can easily stay up the whole night and not feel the effects, save the odd/constant spelling error and spitting mouth wash into the toilet/ stuffing the basin with tissue error.
I'm currently listening to songs with one word in common. I'm on 'real' at the moment. It has given me Cadence Weapon, NoMeansNo, Future of the Left, Jello Biafra, Crass and Aidan Moffat so far. I'm looking forward to the delights of 'way'.
I've broken my cafetiere, lost my lighter and the smoke alarm won't shut up if I start smoking. This might be a problem when I hit the 4.30/ early bird song trouble spot.
here you go
http://thesaurus.reference.com/
that site takes far too long to load
but thanks.
really?
loads in like a second for me :\
yeah
my internet is dire. Even at this time of night. Although soulseek is surely to blame. What word shall I playlist next? Mustn't be too obscure.
birds
they've started singing and all.
oh shit
hope they don't keep me awake
can i ask you how you do that - do you have windows media player?
cos I'm going to do that when I get home!
distort = literally/metaphorically? obsfuscate?
disillusion = disavail
disengage = withdraw?
encourage= enthuse/buoy
cynical=skeptical
thanks
It's just a matter of using the search function within the 'songs' grouping mode. You can almost do it on itunes, but you can't specify you want the search only for track names, as far as I can tell. Which is a shame, because my WMP skips and jumps towards the end of every song, which also tends to be the climax.
Anyone else have this problem? I'm running WMP 11 on Vista.
ok
Distort:
Synonyms: belie, color, falsify, load, misrepresent, misstate, pervert, twist, warp, wrench, wrest"
disillusion - no hits :\
Disengage: disentangle, disinvolve, extricate, untangle, disconnect, uncouple, abstract, disassociate, dissociate, withdraw
Encourage: animate, cheer, embolden, inspire, inspirit, motivate
Cynical: cynic, ironic, ironical, sardonic, wry
all according to that site
too tired to think for myself.
I planned on working late
and managed to till about 9.
On the way home popped in to the local for a workmates birthday, ended up getting pizza/beer and going back to the office to play lan games and mess around on the drums.
Got a bus back from work about half one, had a cup of tea and some jaffa-cakes, dicked around on the internet for an hour or two.
Which i'm now regretting as I have to get up for work in 5 hours. hum.
Other than that a surprisingly good evening.
your office has drums?
You had jaffa cakes?
You marmaladey bastard!
my office doesn't have jaffa-cakes.
We did have a basket of muffins today though, an actual wicker basket of muffins, lined with gingham cloth. That was odd.
Yeah, we have a small practice room with 1.5 drum kits and a few guitars/bass, it reminds me how little rhythm i have, especially when drunk.
i'm even more jealous
can i have a job where you work? i'll make muffins every day :)
we already have quite a high DiS-count, like 4 of us.
I wish we had any baking-based positions available, that would be awesome.
i'm tempted to start researching muffin recipes, but i think i should probably set my alarm to 10am and go to sleep, heh.
i've got a few good ones
muffin recipes that is
and the best one is one i came up with myself. YEAH.
seriously, i'll be the anti-DiS
have you tried sugar biscuits?
i only like the top of muffins. the bottom is hard work and i stop enjoying myself
sainsbury's are stocking an awesome little brand of them
i will try to remember the name for you if you like sugar biscuits
yes please!
i <3 all kinds of biscuits, night!
I'm looking for
the word that means reacquaint or reintroduce... in the way that you might two old friends who had got over their differences and past arguments. It's almost nearly on the tip of my tongue, and it definitely exists.
reconcilation?
:D
that's it. Thanks.
or rapprochement
but that might only apply in politics
JAFFA CAKES
wow, i REALLY want some, not had those in agesssss
the best bit
was using the top of a screw top wine bottle to cut out the center of the cake, getting rid of the dry/not very orangey edge bit.
It was like super concentrated jaffa-awesome, but I can't help feeling a little dirty doing it.
mmmmm
i'll be dreaming of jaffa cakes tonight.
in a few minutes hopefully as i'm off to bed now, good nigth everyone x
night! x
I'm attempting to fill in a pop quiz on gardens.
Fucking yay.
That inexplicable language was unnecessary.
Apologies. Remarkably dull activity prompted such an uncharacteristic verbal outburst.
I'm overtired, which is depressing, on top of moderate depression.
does anyone remember
who published that report into interest in politics recently that came out with the results that something like 13% said they were very interested in politics, and that some other small percentage could claim to have had a conversation about the political in the last two years?
