hello!
as i said, i'd like to form a visually impaired band, please. pretty self explanatory, really: a band with people who are ocularly challenged or ocularly challenged-sympathisers, doing songs about glasses and that. we'd probably all wear glasses on stage that would come flying off when we ROCK OUT. (spec-rock? eyexcore?)
it wouldn't be anything really serious though. i just think it would be a lot of good fun. do you? would you form this band with me?
i think i can play guitar quite well and i can sing a bit. and a friend has expressed some interest in this before. however, i'd like some other players. what instruments can you play?
i want it to sound like meneguar, johnny foreigner and jimmy eat world too...
so, if yr interested and live in glasgow (or think it's such a great idea yr going to move to glasgow as soon as just to take part) pm me on here, or e-mail me at the address on my profile and we'll see what happens...
kthxbai!

yay
i play glockenspiel
how about it?
sorry you can't.
I play glockenspeil in a band that wears glasses on stage.
It's kind of my "thing".
If you do it too i'll have to find a new "thing" and that's just loads of effort.
K thanks.
.
alas i have 20/20 vision
Hallo Steff!
I do not have 20/20 vision, but then I also do not play the glockenspiel.
All you need to do is merge
yourselves to form one person and ta da!
.
awsome,
i can do ukulele, bass and i have a 20 year old synth also
let's do it
name ideas?
wow
i just noticed yr user name
Hi!
xxx
I can play the mandolin.
And I wear contacts...
I live in Glasgow, but I'm moving to Dundee.
Also.. I think I'd be a bit rubbish in a band. I'd love it until I was on stage, then I'd freak out and cry.
That was an incredibly unhelpful reply,
ha ha.
dundee
why you moving to the dee?
ps) you are shitting in till yr on stage then you can have a right laugh, make a band when yr there, dundee has a great music scene
xxx
Going to art school there.
I think if I was drunk enough, I'd enjoy it..
.
everyone i know who goes to dundee as a student loves it, i'm sure you'll have a grand time, duncan of jordan?

i'm really short sighted and play the drums...
I live in Edinburgh, but there's a good chance I'll be working in Glasgow next year if it helps?!
I'd have offered to play drums
But I have perfect vision, I'm afraid, just like the Montag song.
I see wht your doing here
so unfortunatly I'm out and I can't play any kind of music and I don't live in Scotland. Glad to be helpful to your cause...... your website is helping me.
I'm colourblind
but unfortunately don't have an ounce of musical talent.
pity.
I only wear glasses sometimes
for a mere astigmatism
But wouldn't that make a great lyric?
I've got a vintage harmonica or. I actually sing, though.
Last time I was on stage
I got so sweaty my glasses flew off my nose while I was in the middle of my solo. Not good.
6/7 members of ht&u
wore glasses (i wear contacts cos im a SELL OUT)
i want to be in a band with you...
i wear contact lenses most of the time too
vanity FTW
if this goes ahead
i know i will be a massie fan. i wish i could take part, with my violin. i can play with my eyes closed...
this is another reason why i feel left out by not having glasses.
what are you going to call yourselves??
*Bad Joke Warning*
Well, I can't wait to see this band. I bet when they play live, they're a real... spectacle!
*Goes to call taxi*
if you can play with yr eyes closed
d'you want to pretend yr blind?
jaw
floor
uh, okay
it seems that a few people are interested in doing this and that's good. no, it's actually great.
but yr all sad you can't join cos you've got good eyesight. that doesn't matter, you can still join - just wear fake glasses, either frames with no lenses in them or with plain glass.
i thought it might be a bit hard to get enough people who wear glasses and can/want to rock out.
so if you wear glasses, wish you wore glasses or like glasses in general (wearers, etc.) you can join. you don't ACTUALLY have to be near blind to play. it's mostly about the songs we'd do anyway.
so... yeah. still interested?
i don't think i could get the sound you're looking for
i'll be your biggest fan
xxxxxxx
that's cool
but i was kinda hoping that a violinist would be interested. plus, since people volunteered with glockenspiels and things like that, i guess it would probably all depend on whatever sound we develop together as a band (but less wanky sounding like that hah)
if you are still looking for people
in september, when i will be moving to glasgow, then i will so totally join.
i mean, i have no discernable musical talent, but IT'S THE GLASSES THAT COUNT, right? i'm sure i could manage glockenspiel, or something.
you can book gigs at specsavers!
or give proceeds to ocular charities!
right
eye -3.00 left eye -2.50. i can guitar and drum machine so badly you may wish to slice up said eye(s) salvidor dali style
i
can play guitar quite well. i also have a glock and a ukulele! don;t know if i could "ROCK OUT" though...
give it a try?
i'm sure you can do it!
maybe if you ply me with alcohol.
how is the band shaping up?
meh
it isn't really. it seemed to be turning into a twee/folk band for a while, what with glockenspiels 'n that. haven't found a drummer yet :(
drummers
in glasgow are a rare breed! i just posted looking for one actually.
i'd be quite into doing noisy garagey guitar stuff, or whatever.
my vision is fine btw, but i've read that that's not a problem.
yeah, all the good ones seem to be taken...
noisy is good. and loud.
you can just wear fake glasses or something, if you want. my friend and i have really, really bad eyesight, so i guess we're probably blind enough for the whole band haha.
yeah
i'd obtain some fake glasses, i wouldn't want to let the team down.
it'd be good to be in a noisy irreverent pavementish band. what's the line- up like so far?
yes, pavementish indeed
the line-up so far is: me, my friend... that's it. ha!
let's say, in an ideal world, you join and play guitar and yes_ joins and plays bass, then that would be:
me - singing, guitaring
dave, my friend - singing, guitaring (he's gonna play acoustic guitar and fingerpick, like early weezer, or something)
you - guitar (anything else you want to/can do?)
yes_ - bass, showing off
??? - drums
i think that's good enough?
oh yeah
cat-g - superfan
triple guitar!
looks good to me. i would do ragged yelps if i could, i've not quite refined the technique yet though.
^5
it would be awesome if we could get a double drummers too! i'm trying to get ragged yelps down as well - i can do hysterical screaming no bother, though.
^5
hysterical screaming is always a plus. we'll have everything a band needs spread over all members! i can practice after may 25th (when uni finishes).
Hiya!
I can play guitar a bit and therefore bass I guess (though I don't actually own one).
I can pretend to be visually impaired and I like showing off.
^ this is good
i don't mind faking visually impairment. but guitar (or bass) is good. it was turning a bit twee/folk-y, what with the glockenspiels and ukuleles.
needs to be more geek-rock to go with our image.
if you play bass, do you mind being the lou barlow?
go with our image
ewww
i'm out
Rockular.
I win, don't I? I ex-spec-t so.
you win
