When did 'One Way Or Another' become Blondie's 'default' single?

And why? It happened about five years ago, seemingly. What went on? It wasn't even released as a single over here, was it? And it's nowhere near as good as Atomic, or Heart Of Glass, or that Telephone one. Or even Denis Denis.

Anyway. Erm. Why did this happen? More bands should get their default single changed every few years, I reckon.

This thread has NO POINT.

Haha, I remember that.

I really hate that song though, despite a fondness for Blondie otherwise. Hanging on the Telephone (aka that telephone one) is a such a tune.

you forgot MARIA!

why do people always leave out Maria :(

At least you had a similar thought.

We're basically the same, you and me.

We should try and have different thoughts

It'll be more efficient. I'm thinking that cats are pretty alright and that Chumbawamba are slightly embarrassing.

When im out i only ever hear heart of glass

sometimes atomic. but yeah sabrina did it.

Do that many people watch Sabrina then?

Or just one really influential shit indie DJ?

I totally missed that.

well i reckon the people gong out now

and djing, probably watched that before listening to blondie properly, and as a result see that as the hit rather than something else, like Heart of Glass.

Baileys ad?

(I know I could probably search for this myself, but frankly I am really, really fucking lazy).

yes, lady playing pool.

one man, of three randoms standing about, necks her baileys. she kisses them all to find out said thiefster.

all to the soundtrack of one way or another.

What a slut!

I think I remember it though. I'd obviously forgotten that this was the soundtrack. THREAD OVER. EVERYONE OUT.

Don't ever say 'randoms'

like that again. Or I'll hunt you down and throw throwing knives at you.

yeah

as the DiS authority on Sabrina the Teenage Witch i would have posted that clip. Thanks douchebag.

hanging on the telephone > all

it's amazing.

seconded

motion carriedd

it was also

the theme tune to that lesbian thing on channel 4. i think that was on about five years ago... possibly

and it was used

in veronica mars

So bad

it needs to be mentioned twice

I wasn't aware this had happened

I thought Heart Of Glass was still the default Blondie single.

What else has happened in the last 5 years? Who's the current Prime Minister?

That's "classic rock" for you

1 band, 1 song. Huge bands like The Beatles or Stones, Eagles might get up to 10 different songs. Actually I think "Call Me" is Blondie's default single if I'm not mistaken. It's best not to worry yourself over it. Have you ever had the "If only I had a radio station; I would revolutionize radio" fantasy?

My fav is

Union City Blue.

Parallel Lines is maybe the best pop record of all time.

grrrrr

Best album of all time. Stop with this 'best pop' shit.

for the record

That wasn't me saying I think Parallel Lines is the best album of all time, I was correcting the doofus above who says 'pop album' as if that's different to any other album. I hate Blondie. Apart from 'Denis'

Yeah, it did use to be Heart of Glass didn't it?

After having sub-standard indie clubs relentlessly spew out fucking One Way Or Another every night of the week I would be sincerely glad if that song were wiped out of existence forever. I don't understand how the majority of the clientele in these places never fail to get excited whenever it comes on, despite it featuring on the playlist every single time they visit.

I dunno, but it *should* be Union City Blue.

The best Blondie song by a country mile.

hmm

better than 'Dreaming'?

No.

Better than dreaming.

Yes.
