The Stone Cave!

<3

i've not been to that one

they don't sell lahmacun, do they? lahmacun = om nom nom nom.

I've never seen it there but they probs do

they do those incredible thin pancake/tortilla type things with spinach in them.

sigh

borek? or something else?

i might check it out then if they have lahmacun.

mangal, as you say below is amazing.

Yes! I love that place

Even the buffet is awesome.

Basically - most places on Stoke Newington high street/Kingsland Road

Mangal is very good as well :)

The Stockpot

for wholesome grub. Greek Street I think.

Misato for insanely cheap and ridiculously oversized Japanese food. Only take cash, don't bother during peak times, the queue goes down the road. Wardour Street

near Greek St, opposite Eds Diner!

(the stockpot)

so is misato actually good?

i've heard it's cheap and fills you up but my friend (who is a complete japanophile) says the food is merely ok.

Cappuccetto, Moor St, just off Cambridge Circus

at lunchtime. Dependable food, with excellent lines in empty waxy chianti bottles, fake barrel-ends and wall-mounted fish, excessively coloured maps of Italy illustrating regional wines, and many pictures of the proprietory family enjoying themselves in Italy much more than they seem to be in London. The family Italian equivalent of curry-house flock wallpaper.

the shanghai near dalston kingsland

does amazing food (incredible dumplings and duck) for very cheap

Plus it looks very quaint and old fashioned - more like a 50s chip shop with booths

the spaghetti house

directly opposite tufnell park station. awesome food and BYOB.
