i have (favourites first):
on the beach
after the goldrush
rust never sleeps
unplugged
harvest moon
tonight's the night
broken arrow

decade (compilation, doesn't count)+
various bootlegs, mostly outtakes, rarities and alternate recordings.

not interested in harvest (love out on the weekend but the only other good songs are on decade, ditto for zuma)

missing any classics or should i just wait for the Archives set and blow a bundle ?

american stars n bars
sleeps with angels
everybody knows this is nowhere
harvest and zuma you dildo

live at fillmore east

and live at massey hall archive sets are absolutely blinding

i said it before and I'll say it again

Neil Young's Live Album; Weld is immense.

ok

re harevst:
of the 10 songs on there, 5 are on decade. granted out on the weekend is amazing but you can't tell me the other 4 are essential neil young? you've gotta be joking !

re zuma:
that's much more debatable, but i had a copy of this and only liked danger bird and cortze (on decade tho).

and btw there ain't no right or wrong to my ears just what i like or i don't.

thanks for the other recommendations.

yeah

Weld is fantic. also Ragged Glory is a great album for Horse fans

i love Re-ac-tor

its not for everyone, and its dodgy in patches. its kind of heavy and almost industrially rhythmic, with lots of feedback. 'Shots' is one of current favourite Young songs.

Do you have Chrome Dreams?

Or Time Fades Away? They're definitely worth tracking down. Tonight's The Night should be higher as well. Listen to that again.

yeah

i have bootleg of the original chrome dreams which i love (II is ok, i burned a copy of that from a friend). do you seriously like time fades away ? i had it on vinyl and thought it was poor, i mean i like rough recordings but....

I like that it's so ramshackle and off the cuff.

Also it's nice and short, so if I fancy a quick fix of Neil I often stick that on.

everyone knows this is nowhere

is my favourite neil young record.

time fades is amazing

its live you know? thus rough.

ha

ha ha. you have a low estimation of amazing then. interesting, yes, but the songs on it are hardly top notch neil. same for tonight's the night, a great record for atmosphere and ambience, but great songs ? nah. i rarely play it. unlike on the beach or rust never sleeps which i play all the time. maybe i should get some more electric neil young live. will defo check out weld and fillmore east, methinks.

hmmmm

out of all the NY i have Zuma and Harvest are probably on the most!!

Zuma justs sounds SOOOOO amazing.

.

living with war is pretty good

Try Buffalo Springfield or Crazy Horse

I don't know if there is any remasters of these yet but that is good Neil.

I'm sorry but you need Zuma.

end of.

Also Ragged Glory is ace ace ace.

and Harvest

sit down and listen to it
