Artists: Parts & Labor

Parts & Labor are as industrious a band as they’re name might suggest, grafting to release last year’s Mapmaker longplayer as well as the 51-song, 30 minute Escapers Two EP issued through Ace Fu earlier this month.

So we implore that you forgive them when they request a hand with their new album, currently being recorded for release by the end of the year. Over to the band:

Want to be on the next Parts & Labor album?

We're in the studio working on our next album. Send us some audio samples to use on the recording.

We're looking for snippets of noises, field recordings, found sounds, drones, speaking, etc.

Send audio that responds to any or all of these questions:

1. What's your favorite or least favorite sound?
2. What are you afraid of?
3. What do your parents sound like?
4. Where are you going, or where have you been?

The deadline for submissions is May 23rd.

Please keep the samples under 10 seconds. wav or aiff formats are preferred (but mp3s are okay too).

Email your submissions to partsandlaborsounds@gmail.com. Include your name for crediting purposes if you want.

Thanks,
Parts & Labor

PS: By sending us audio files you're agreeing to let us use them on our audio recordings in any way we see fit, forever and ever. Don't send lawyers at us.

awesome band

i love this band

they're a four piece now, i kinda dread to think how loud they'd be!

How is a 51-track EP anything more than a weak attempt for publicity?

When bands do wanky things like this you wonder why alternative music has such a suck-arse reputation.

^ i didn't means publicity.

I meant something else, but i couldn't think of the word. I defiantly stand by the general point, though.

Urgh

'Mapmaker' was my favourite album of last year but this sounds rubbish. It'll be like the "14 Track single" of Bochum that Six By Seven released that was two songs and then 12 tracks of Chris Olley dicking about with a synth.

it's a 51 track EP

of very short songs, the whole thing only lasts about 25 minutes or so. they wrote and recorded the whole thing in a very short space of time, it's the second of a series where they try and push themselves. not sure what your point is?

oh dear

its their grind pop opus. its gonna be in utter contrast to the new album that they're working on which will be huge massive epic. so don't be worrying.

Incidentally

it says on their MySpace they're planning to tour Europe in July. HELLO TINNITUS.

P&L are playing the Supersonic festival in July

more dates tba

this will be their first time in Europe with new guitarist Sarah Lipstate, who played with the band at SXSW
