Or not to work in McDonalds..

I've been unemployed for months, having been unable to lock down a job no matter what application form I hand in or what job centre I go to.

I just got invited to an interview with McDonalds.

Is it worth going to this or should I just go penniless for another month or so as I fill in more forms and hope for the best?

Better than being skint

I know a few people who work they and they actually quite enjoy it. Made loads of friends. Plus, you get to mess with peoples food!

well

you'll get money AND one of their snazzy new uniforms...

Apparently

1 in every 8 working Americans at one point in their lives have worked for McDonalds.

So you wouldn't be alone.
And my friend who is a trainer has said that places like McDonalds and Pret etc... all have the best business training for employees so you will be gaining proper business training outside of serving customers. They also have programs that allow you to do courses in business. So in a way it's not a bad idea.

You get to wear the snazzy new uniforms

complete with neckscarf!

On the other hand:
having a job >>>> not having a job

Go for it!

Every job has its benefits in terms of assisting future forward-moving.

And i'll have some fries with that, thanks ;)

Yes, a job is a job

You can't be snobbish about someone else's job or you're just being a cunt.

McDonald's == evil.
People who work there == people who aren't scrounging off benefits but actually doing something and therefore perfectly fine.

I only need to work there for two months

then i'm moving. Calling them up now! :D

Yes, having a job is much better than not having a job.

I worked at McDonalds for about 6 weeks a few years ago, I didn't enjoy it but it was better having some money.

Same here.

Although, 6 weeks was about as much as I could handle. It did allow me to save enough cash to go to a couple of festivals that year though :)
The overtime can be good and if you're willing to put in the hours, cash is cash, eh?
Go for it.

Work is work.

One of my friends is doing a Phd and worked in the Argyle St McDonalds in Glasgow for 3 years, he hate every moment of it, but made a fortune.

a fortune?

selling unwanted gherkins on the black market?

I'd buy them!

Mmmmm gherkins.

Yes!

Then play Burial's album.. especially 'In McDonalds' loudly, to scare people off.
I work in a shop, and I do that. Hee hee

I worked there for 2 years

at weekends. Fucking hated it, but 2 months wouldnt be too bad, and its money.

Two of my friends worked there.

I'd say go to the interview; just because you take the job doesn't mean you can't keep looking for a better one, but you'll have some cash in the mean time.

nooooo

the one thing one can say is "well, at least I don't work in mcdonalds."
