I can understand people who are totally not into any sort of mind alteration (OK I can't really understand it because I think it is basic human inquisitiveness to try things but still) but I don't see much of a division between cannabis and alcohol. I know I much prefer the effects of the latter but I was always keen to know what they were both like, and mushrooms, but I stopped doing them when I was 18.
I drink.
Vast swathes of people I know smoke cannabis and I can't say any of them seem to be enjoying life more than I am or having some experience I' m missing out on.
I'm inquisitive by nature but I can think of far more interesting things to be inquisitive about.
I've had a couple of smokes
when I was at Uni. It didn't really do much for me so I've not done it again. I've never really come into contact with hard drugs, even if I had I know that I wouldn't want to go down that road - purely because of the unknown. I know what drinking does to me and I know how to control it - hence alcohol is my drug of choice.

I can completely understand never trying hard drugs because they are potentially dangerous / frowned upon / taken by idiots but I'm always surprised when people haven't at least tried a spliff at some point in there life. Altered states interest me, despite me not having much experience of them personally.

Although I wouldn't say I take a lot but I do often have a smoke and on certain nights out partake in others.
I enjoy them and have never really had a bad experience and I will speak for the vast majority of my friends in the same boat. Most of whom hold important/high profile type jobs, they are articulate and switched on and would never allow drugs to affect their private/professional lives.
I cannot stand the holier than thou attitude of many (not all) non drug users.

Ok lets do it. Erm, sometimes I think drug users are too boring and self centred. Other times I'm relieved that they don't want to start fights all the time.
Every now and then, I get a little tempted to be boring and self centred, but most of the time, I find it easy to resist and just join in the fights.
