WOW.

Just absolutely WOW. This is by far and away the best thing I have heard all year. Lanegan sounds absolutely amazing, and the way the voices overlap and interchange is perfect. It's probably the best 'supergroup' I've heard, cause it doesn't ride too hard on the bag of the component parts respective pedigrees whilst still playing to Dulli and Lanegan's talents.

I've heard a fair few bits this year which have been pretty great (Nick Cave, No Age, Earth) but this is just so so great. Every song drips with menace, emotion and personality. Yeah, an album with personality. Thank god.

Buy it. Now.

I Was In Love With You
Bete Noir

Oh man

'Each to Each' bliss. That's how you use electronics in a song.

Just announced

Shepherds Bush Empire on 13th August

superb album

idle hands is one of my faves too. I have to say I am a huge Mark Lanegan fan and with Greg Dulli being another heavy weight of 90's alternative I had high expectations and I have to say was expecting a bit. Still a good album.

* was supposed to say

bit more. doh.

well

having just listened to it again, it still doesn't really get past 'quite good' for me. 7/10, good, but not mind blowing

I've been

looking forward to this album for years, it really didn't disappoint. They really were something else at the Koko in February. I might just go and see them again.

Front Street is the best song ever.

They're on Later this week

if you can bear to sit through Jools playing innapropriate boogie-woogie piano with Operator Please.
