Or do you simply write him off as a weird nutter with a fascination for young kids perfoming 'night time' acts?
On a side note, is anyone a fan of Harmony Korine's stuff? I found Gummo pretty thought provoking. Unsure whether I enjoyed it. Anyone seen Misteer Lonely? It looks fucking amazing.

it was "released" in Canada yesterday, but sadly none of the Winnipeg theatres are showing it :'(
i think it will be one of my favourite movies ever once i do see it..but this is only speculation.

i think it treads the line between thought provoking and shocking the best out of all his output. stuff like ken park just seemed shocking for no real reason, i couldn't see any kind of coherency between all the sub plots. Whereas Gummo's clearly a commentary on the deep south in America, Ken Park just seemed to follow a group of people who were utterly fucked up for no discernible reason. Still need to see Wassup Rockers though. And looking forward to Mister Lonely, if it comes out here at all
