So erm. After a few years of procrastination and cancellation of tours to ensure it's perfect, the new Cure single 'The Only One' is the first of a series of monthly singles until the album comes out in September.
And it's mostly streamable from:
I say mostly because it seems to get about three quarter through before restarting and making you wonder if your browser is fucked.
Worth getting excited about?
First couple of listens and it doesn't sound terribly interesting. A bit try-hard Happy Cure ditty, along the lines of Mint Car to me.
i like it!
yeah you are right, bit of an obvious cure song, but why fuck with genius?
Truth up!
I heard them do it live at Wembley (along with the next single Freakshow, which sounded more like their vaguely dancey pop ones from the 80s) and it sounded excellent.
They also did another one which sounded a bit like Never Enough.
This single was the weakest of the three, but it's still fucking good.
It's The Cure for fuck's sake!
yeah i thought i recognised it from wembley
Flash isn't working in my office
Someone hum it for me
its pretty good
not amazing, but its a nice happy cure song whats not to like?
cool
sounds pleasant. When is the new album out?
..
September
I prefer unhappy Cures tunes to the jaunty ones
but this is pretty good.
7/10
goth ^
i like the sad ones and the happy ones
ex-goth^
this single has some fucked up edits in it
innit

sounds like friday I'm in Love without the tune and the chorus
still nice tho
ok
i get it
it's aloop
*kills self*
oh
the shame
not bad
I don't know..
... is there a problem with the file on the site? It gets to where the chorus should presumably start and then resets... but in a manner that isn't immediately clear that that is not how it should be.
I'm not sure the song's properly there. It's possible there's a fantastically catchy chorus yet to be heard.
it's a loop of the first verse, or something
awww
have a heart, 'Mint Car' was class, come on; "the sun is up im so happy i could scream/and theres nowhere else in the world i'd rather be" simple but effective, if not entirely convincing.
yeah
It wasn't unlistenable. It just seemed like average parts of every great upbeat Cure song before it.
I do like some of the songs on Wild Mood Swings, mind.
bah
*turns off the lights*
*listens to 'all cats are grey'*
ahhh
now that's better
i
thought it was called im not gonna teach your boyfriend how to dance wth you or something...
I'll tip the waitress
ah
come on that was class right there
Not sure I want to listen to it
after the failures that were their last 2 albums...
