^this is not the best recording, but watch it anyway - "thin blue flame" is the most incredible song. the studio version (amazing) might be on his myspace.
he is the most joyful live performer i have ever seen - i took an incurably indie friend to see him once, who took one look at the crowd made up of everyone from middle class sixty-somethings to skinny-jeans clad 16 year olds and said "what the shit are all these people doing here?"
at the end, she said, and i know this is painfully cheesy but i swear it's true - "now i get why these people were here - i thought we were all so different but now every single one of us has the friggin hugest grin on our faces"

But yeah, I watched the two videos, first one (Mind's Eye) wasn't so good, pretty alt-country by numbers, but that 'Thin Blue Flame' was great!
I'm usually a bit iffy with country and it's variations, but I'll definetely be scrolling youtube for some more of his stuff for the rest of tonight to see if the rest of his stuff is more Mind's Eye or Thin Blue Flame.
