Oreo Mcflurry somewhere. It might not have been in this country... Actually McDonalds may not even make them at all in which case they probably should do as I reckon they'd be awesome.
As the article points out, part of the reason why Oreos are so loved in America is because they're part of the American consciousness. We obviously don't share that history.
Besides, the simple fact is that they just don't taste that great. They're a 5 or 6 out of 10 biscuit. Why would British people switch to Oreos when they can buy chocolate hobnobs and the like with ease?
It is a god amongst men. And biscuits.
What is a custard cream?
I googled it.
It looks nice.
a bit sickly
but they are good.
I used to like them.
Then suddenly, one day, I tasted them for the first time and went YEUCH.
It was like the moment when you were a kid when you realised that beer tasted good and not horrible.
brusma says nay
My gf is American
She sends me Oreos. Dipped in milk, they are the greatest biscuit known to man. Anyone who disagrees is a fucking pleb.
Dipped in milk,
it's like a little taste of heaven...
they're on offer in loads of super markets at the moment
43p for a pack!
I really like them and always have. To become the UKs number one biscuit brand though might be pushing it...top 3 maybe.
omzgsh!!
they are THE best thing for late night snacks. Glass of freezing cold milk and a packet of oreos...mmmmmm
nay
only if they make the british ones vegan like the american ones
I've never had any
But they look fucking delicious!
The kid in the advert annoys me so much.
Everytime I watch it, I pray for the dog to bite him!
.
They really are'nt gonna beat Chocolate covered hobnobs in my eyes.
Or in fact the chocolate and caramel digestives!
I had some chocolate and caramel digestives the other day
they aren't as great as they were. :(
They're ok
Oreo shakes on the other hand are AMAZING.
I'm purty sure I've had an

Where on earth do you get an 'Oreo Shake' from!
Take Oreos
blend with vanilla ice cream and milk. You have an Oreo shake, pretty much the greatest food known to man.
oreos are AMAZING
NOM NOM NOM
I shall not be tempted
It's ginger nuts and ginger nuts only in my world!
oh dear god
http://blog.news-record.com/staff/melskitchen/oreo%20cake.JPG
Oreos are fucking amazing.
big big yay
i had oreo cheesecake at the cheese cake factory in san Francisco and it was amazing.
^ The Cheesecake Factory is a place of dreams!
I absolutely adore that chain and wish to god that they'd expand into the UK.
I like them, but they are a bit sweet in my opinion.
I'm sure they'll sell pretty well for a while, but they'll struggle against established British brands.
They are really nice
ONLY IF U HAVE MILK! on their own they are rubbish but with milk they make sense.
ALSO
why is everyone wanking on about them as if they're brand new? i've been buying oreos quite easily in many shops over here for years.
Because they were only available in selected outlets before....
this is a major marketing drive. Nabisco aim to make the Oreo brand as ubiquitous as the Digestive or the Rich Tea.
you're so indie
Ok
One question before i buy them, what are the cookie halfs made of?
They're too dark for chocolate, even for dark chocolate so what do they taste like?
Errrr...chocolate!
:D
I'll buy them tomorrow then.
They are ghastly
I much prefer me shortbread.
Nay.

</needlessly serious about snack foods>
Biscuits are serious business
I think I had one a few years ago, they were a bit meh.
Biscuits/cookies that are better:
Hobnobs
Chocolate covered Hobnobs
Chocolate chip cookies
Chocolate digestives
Rick Tea's
Clubs
Gold Bars
Penguins
Wagonwheels
Ginger nuts
Trios
Shortbread
Kitkats
Caramel logs
Chocolate and caramel digestives
Timeouts
Custard creams
Bourbons
Oreos are nothing special whatsoever.
They're basically the same as custard creams (odviously with chocolate biscuit). Anyone who says differently is a pleb.
blaaast has got the right idea. I'd add to that list 'Boasters'. I think that's what they are called.
no one has glasses of milk in this country though
do they?
Yep.
I just did. AND, I even dunked my Oreos in it : )
you're going to get fat
but have strong bones and teeth
YEAH!
Everyone has glasses of milk, they're amazing.
Glass of milk + chocolate chip cookie == yummy yummy time!
nom nom nom
oreos aren't that great
they're too sweet. i like the slight saltiness of a hobnob. rowr.
Oreos aren't my cup of tea (Geddit? Ho ho!)
The biscuit part tastes like dog biscuit... all stale and hard
But the creamy bit is nice, but not nicer than teacakes:
