BUMPO
tickets for tomorrow: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/21753
or buy one from my face on the door :D
sebadoh in the summer with cider and stuff = OH YES FOREVER
any chance of a dare to be surprised dont look back
lous finest work
My laptop hates me
and won't recognise the fact that the disc is in the CD drive at all. Therefore, NO SEBADOH-BASED JOY FOR ME ;____;
I'm consoling myself by You're Living All Over Me. Very loudly.
Lose is a million times better
than anything with the Sebadoh name on it :D
stop self-hating
:D
Not there yet
I was, however, just dancing around my room to Raisans.
I'LL BE DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN.
I'LL BE AROOOOOOOOOOOOUND...
Mmmm. Lovely. I'm really only doing this because I only have two Sebadoh songs on my laptop anyway (Freed Pig and Gimme Indie Rock). NEED. MORE.
Note to laptop: WHYYYYYYYYYYYY?! WHY DON'T YOU LIIIIIKE MEEEEEEE?!
10/10
:D
I made a Dino Jr joke that Daniel Guntrip laughed at.
Suddenly I've found the validation and meaning I've been looking for in my many years on this board.
its pretty much the most hardcore vocal performance ever
puts proper metallers to shame
are you referring to "don't"?
Lose is track 8 on YLAOM. And you're wrong, there are Sebadoh songs much better than that, despite it being a great song.
On "Don't", I love the fact it just has J Mascis idly soloing over the top. I'd love to think he was completely oblivious to the song's meaning.
yeah I am thinking of don't
silly me, and J wrote it and made lou sing it according to our band could be your life
and the album's credits
he was clearly well aware of the connotations of the song.
which makes it even better.
they must have had a pretty
hardcore heart to heart at some point considering how much they do together nowadays
indeed
it really is incredible that they not only all started playing together again but made another album and are still touring three years later.
the only real comment i remember seeing was Barlow saying that they'd both grown up a lot and realised how much of a pair of dicks they'd been :D
in that book j say something like
"yeah that was pretty perverse" i'll check when I get home
I'll be there tomorrow
haven't picked up the reissue yet though. Chances of a Lou Barlow stagefright freak out?
doubtful
considering how often he plays live nowadays with multiple bands
Doors open at 7 tonight
get there early cos both supports are good (Even & Jennifer Gentle)
Who went then?
and what did you think? I'd been waiting about 14 years to see them live but was left a bit disappointed. Eric didn't seem to put much effort into his songs: didn't do the screaming on Elixir is Zog and cut short Bouquet For a Siren. And I wonder how Lou feels performing his 'breakup album' when he is now married to the women those songs are about. Let Tomorrow Be didn't feel like his song anymore, it was almost like he was doing a cover version.
On a positive note they completely nailed Careful in the encore.
thought it was great
eric seems to sing all his in a different register now but i did think he put effort in... also let tomorrow bee was the highlight of the night!
Can't wait
to see 'em tomorrow night. I last saw them in 97 on the Harmacy tour and have been a lean 11 years for this. I hope they've taught Gaffney a few of the Fay-era tunes!
OK, that must have been just me then
my brother said he thought it was a highlight of the set too. Like I said, i do wonder what Lou Barlow thinks of those songs now. I mean, he seems to be a different person to the one that wrote them 15 years ago.
Also what was with the second support band? I know you said they were good up there^^ but I was not impressed at all. Maybe they wouldn't be so bad if the singer didn't sound like "that evil TV thing out of Willow the Wisp"....
i like one of the albums
i heard. his voice did sound rather amusing from out the front, but then i like weirdo singers.
Kinda wish I went...
...by Bubble's not 'up there' for me, and it was DLB wannit?
Are they doing Primavera?
yup it was dlb
then they did freed weed and careful and gimme indie rock and one more for the encore.
its dlb at primavera too
*Freed Pig
Too Pure was the other encore song
No Beauty of the Ride sadly
Yeah, I'm hoping they do that at ATP
Too Pure was lovely though.
I enjoyed the show last night, to an extent. The songs were good, but the three or four minute gap in between them just made me feel slightly bored.
i saw them last week in brighton
and they played LOADS of songs off The Freed Man but electrified. I guess thats the album that Eric had the most input into on a basic songwriting level. The highlight of that night was Scars Four Eyes from III and Mind Reader from Harmacy. Lou's 4 string electro acoustic sounded great too.
Jason only got about 20 mins of frontman time in a 1hr45 set, and in my opinion was the best of the three ... not sure how they are gonna condense it into an hour at ATP. But I was thinking ... surely Vampire Weekend don't have an hour's worth of material, and Ween playing for three hours and Sebadoh one hour seems a bit odd. So maybe we will get 90 mins of Sebadoh? Jamie?
If they
play Mind Reader tomorrow I think I may poo my pants in glee.
I really enjoyed it.
I can't believe how you Jason still looks though...
Also HOMEMADE
was the tits for me....fucking huge. I wanna hear some new material...it could happen ya na!
