I've had a circular about a concert, and I've never heard of him, concert sounds like some sort of performance art setup though.

"Please" and "thank you"
yes
'rise a kite' is an anagram of his name
^excellent!
He's French, dead (1866-1925) and basically invented ambient music
something he called "furniture music".
Oh, and his compositions are very good.
+ Last.fm have a few of his compositions available as full-length streams

Excellent, thanks.
Last.fm saves the day again.
boring...
but that's just me !
He is mainly a writer
but also an actor.
Though occasionally a serious actor, he is most well-known for comedy parts. He has worked a lot with Tommy Cooper, and had a long-running situation comedy series on TV called Sykes in which he and Hattie Jakes played a brother and sister sharing a house.
He is still alive though almost blind and deaf.
:oD
LOL!
i've been in his house
i went on holiday to this really cool 500 year old house in Honfleur, where he was from, and the only entertainment was recording of some of his stuff. I think some of it was in the film Chocolat as well.
you'd recognise his stuff definitely
pretty little simple piano stuff, most famously
Okay
Last.fm broke; I think my computer was being rubbish. Will have to look it up tomorrow.
The film Badlands features a lot of his piano pieces, which are really nice.
Yup.
Nocturnes is his most famous piece of work
It will be very very familiar, almost to the point of sounding cheesy
