I like(d) Dogma

but this applies to most of the people I met at uni.

I agree with it though. They're shite, the above note excepted.

i hated dogma. even when i was <18

I still love mallrats and clerks though.

chasing amy was only 'good', not great.

Are you not 18?

No way!

Jason Lee is the only thing that stops that film being a horrible mess.

way!

I watched Mallrats before I watched Clerks and was kind of disappointed in the latter.

I think Clerks and Mallrats rate equally.

Chasing Amy is great too.

It's been years since I've seen Chasing Amy

so don't really remember :(

People who write academic

papers on Buffy.

i didn't!

my friend did.

Chunty?

I miss the 90s

and will always renember the new jersey trilogy fondly

also.

Dogma is good.
Chasing Amy is good.
Clerks 1&2 are good.
Mallrats is good.
Jay and Silent Bob make me laugh. in bits.

Regular Kevin Smith line -

------------------------------ -> pretty rubbish

------------------------------ -> wanting to throw away my television

that wasn't very clear.

the second line is Clerks 2

Cheers.

Let me know what else I shouldn't like!

sadpunk

sadpunk

you shouldn't like him, but you just do!

says who?

sadpunk

Evidence part 1:

"Hiya! I'm well drunk! I love you. I'm coming back soon! Bet you're well excited! I love you."

Harru, 19-04-08, 00:28

I remember that!!!

sort of.

I rest my case

the defence says:

well actually i was too drunk to think so someone had to dictate to me when I decided "YEAH LETS TEXT SADPUNK!"

4 of my favourite things have been listed.

Good work team DiS!

the people

in my local blockbuster think they are in one of those films. they really, really suck.

I enjoyed Clerks.

Dogma was rubbish, and so was the bits I've seen of Mallrats.

They're all pretty good.

Some of the jokes do tend to get tiresome with age though.

They were excellent when a teenager, now they're just good.

I still like Kevin Smith's work

I don't watch them as much as I used to but to say that you can't hold onto something you loved when younger as you turn older is just retarded. What did you do at 18 Wildson, turn into a massive cliché of an adult, I still have as much time for 'Robin Hood Prince of Thieves' as I do 'Silent Light' but for much different reasons.

his stuff is loads better than any of that

ben stiller/...umm that other one that is exactly the same and I can only remeber the name of one at a time...Adam Sandler thats the dude, that took some googling. and Will farrel films. Clerks is funny his stuff is stupid though.

Clerks

If I was only allowed to own a handful of films that would still be in there, it means to much to me. From going to late night Duke of Yorks showings to getting it on VHS for only £17.99 (bargain - those were the days) to getting cheesy memorabilia from the View Askew shop for birthdays and that’s not even mentioning any of the film. Ripping it of at college for projects and helping me embrace the use of the term "Cinéma vérité" in low-brow films and sounding like a cock and introducing me to Cassavetes et al its importance to me is massive.

There that was fun. (Although Brian O'Halloran can. not. act. much.)

People past the age of 18 who use forums

in a vein attempt to have snide digs at people who have achieved much much more than them in life :(

Smith > you

you cunt :)

People past the age of 30 who make shit films

and can't accept criticism with a grain of maturity, then proceed to make childish insults.

Any other filmmaker > Smith.

Even Uwe Boll.

Maybe if the criticism

had been uttered in a slightly more mature manner, the response would have been formulated accordingly.

good job i'm 17 then.

that was a close one!

he wins

you're a nobody on here discussing him, whilst he probably wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire

think about it x

you're not worth insulting

sorry x

Chasing Amy was dire though, I'll give you all that.

i should have put that in all caps or something

it might seem like i was being genuine as it is now

i'm all confused anyway, i thought that person was saying smith is shit, and they're not, what have i gotten myself into

If you measure someones worth on their "success"

then why is it that analysts criticise have and always will criticise Presidents, Prime Ministers, leaders from Silicon Valley on their work? Surely they've done more with their lives?

You're just a rabid fan who can't see past their own devotion for someone's body of work and can only play the "you are on the internet, thus you're worthless" card.

I'll be logging off here in ten minutes and going on with my life. Maybe i'll succeed and maybe I won't. But your attitude and argument is truly disgusting to me.

I accept that you love Kevin Smith. I admire other people too. But they're just people. And just because I found Smith's handling of that situation to be childish and repugnant for a man who has no need to act in such a way, you have no right to be so stuck up and arrogant when I criticise his behaviour.

Next time there's a thread about David Cronenberg, criticise him and I promse i'll be a little more humble and not such a cunt about one of my heroes being insulted.

such a sensitive soul

watch out for people in the street who say bad words as well x

oh and by the way

I didn't say a word about what I actually think of his films. I happen to like a few of them and surely, his behaviour and work are two different things. So maybe you should be the one growing up a little and not rushing to the defence of a millionaire.

He doesn't care about you either.

are you still here?

You sound like you need a hug
