Women hate each other, says LA Times

By Rebecca Nicholson

Hooray for Salon, who are talking about one of my all-time pet loathes. They're analysing an LA Times article about "the nationwide trend of superficially amicable (but secretly toxic) friendships between women". It's all about how women are bitchy and don't really like each other very much, based on celebrity feuds among the likes of Paris and Nicole. Claws out, ladies - let's have a catfight!

Salon nails it when they lay the blame with a lack of female camaraderie in pop culture as a whole:

"For every Tina Fey vehicle that champions mutual respect and admiration among women, there are a hundred trumped-up examples of an ongoing catfight between famous women."

Amen.
