Clip Of The Day: Isabella Rossellini's insect porn

Now there's a headline you don't see every day. And we're not even making it up - Isabella Rossellini is unveiling a series of short films called Green Porno, in which she dresses up as insects and recreates the mating rituals of the dragonfly, spider, bee, praying mantis, worm, snail and housefly. The clips were made in collaboration with the new Sundance Channel and are designed to be watched on small screens, like those of iPods and mobile phones. The idea is that it's a whole new method of distribution for short films. We like. Wired interviewed Isabella, who explains her directorial debut:

"I've always been very interested in animals, so I knew that insects had these very odd ways of mating and I thought, 'Oh, it'd be great to do a series of little films about how different bugs mate' ... I've kept my nature books and always made little notes about these mind-blowing things insects do, and I also called friends who were scientists. The information in Green Porno is correct, but the way we sell it is absurd."
