if you stop posting then

yes, yes I do.

i dont know about god's existence

but i dont believe that anything that mankind has written or thought can come close to the actual truth. basically i think human religion has destroyed any relationship we might have ever forged with our 'creator', if there indeed was one

CG?

^this^

or some other joker setting up a fake account. STOP IT!

the use of a big 'G' deems this question as purely christian

thus you are asking if i'm Christian, and to that i shall say no

(i'm aware that the abrahamic religions all believe in the same god, however they don't call him the same thing)

Jews

Same

Except the opposite. I'm going to bed now. Hopefully DiS will be fixed by the time I awake.

IT'S TIME TO RISE, RISE, RISE IT'S TIME TO

DU DU DU, DU DU DU, DU DU DU!!!

is there a man in the sky with a beard?

a question everyone can answer.
Recently I was informed that during a time of unhappiness in the past, was not unhappy but my soul was, and at the time I had to find out how to make my soul happy.
No, it was me, thanks.

that's why people have religion

so things can 'make sense'. Even though I was Christened I grew increasingly Agnostic over time, by the time I reached my teens religion became pretty useless.

you've been building

up to this all day haven't you ! BRAINWASH EVERYONE BRAINWASH.

Yes...

I believe lifes pastures are somehow governed by a higher body.

Gepetto?

yes

You might aswell Believe

in Moby Dick, Pinocchio and Tin Tin....(although they may have all existed)....

The last two certainly did...

I've seen them on the Tele.

Telly*

YOU HAVE BEEN

TO THE CONGO?

Yes

The boys were hop-scotching just beside the lake.
We all caught newts together.

...as in you,

tin tin and pinoccio?

ah yes.

And than we met up with Columbo, Morse and Cracker and played 'Hide the Sausage'...........................................I really should stop ingesting liquified Speed at breakfast.

God's in a vegetative state.

Turn off the life support.

if you're going to believe in a god

why not pick a cool one? like Zeus or Anubis or Thor or something?

if you're gonna believe something made up, you might as well go mental.

Nah Athesist through and through.

Just don't buy it - nature is too organised to allow for such a wild theory.

In anycase, live your life the way you want.

I am a radical agnostic

Normal agnostics don't know whether or not there is a god.

I believe that it is impossible to know whether or not there is a god.

In fact I believe that every statement about God has no truth value to it. Except that one...

...

That's Agnostic theism

fuck off

No

But God performed a mini-miracle in communion on sunday night (I'm still a Presbyterian).
Now I'm not so sure.

Like Alastair Campbell...

"We don't do God".

Therefore

your boss is religious.

yes

very recently i changed my mind after a life of atheism. i have my reasons.

I follow no organised religion,

but I believe there is something. Maybe not god as such, but some kind of almighty spirit binding all living things together.
I wouldn't call it a god though, because that implies it's a being seperate from and above us mere mortals.
I don't mean this to be offensive to anyone, but I've always thought people that follow organised religions, Christianity for example, tend to be not the brightest and believe in this because they can't comprehend anything greater without guidance or think independantly.
Although, I agree that a faith can be a brilliant thing to have in your life.

/\

pretty much my feelings on...everything.

amen!

quite a lot of this kind of thing. i think religion/theology are really interesting too and people make too hasty judgements.

also lots of people who follow and study religions are really really clever.

No,

and I don't like the idea of one either.

I don't believe in God

Nor do I believe there is a 'God' to believe in.

I was christened as a baby. I'm still angry with my parents about this. Never in my entire life have I believed in any kind of monotheistic being, of any kind, interventionist or not.

That said I'm sympathetic to certain kinds of Spinozan pantheism, in that it's the only kind of spirituality I can see that doesn't contradict known facts and also doesn't come with any kind of bizarre and dangerous ethical baggage.

I would really like to believe there was

but in the fact that I can feel myself craving for some "it's all going to be ok *big hug*" style figure I realise that such a thing is entirely a human creation.
