Gatsby

or Marquez.

Gatsby...

it's an easy read, and is absolutely ace.

one hundred years of solitude

possibly the best book ever

day of the triffids is fantastic

as are solitude and gatsby.

Triffids...

then Gatsby.
I couldn't get on with One Hundred years of Solitude at all.

i coudn't get on with Triffids

but adore One Hundred Years.. and have read it three times!

Marquez

simply because I really want to read it

tighten up

it is next on my to read list.

So

4 votes for 'Solitude'
3 votes for 'Gatsby'
2 votes for 'Triffids'
1 votes for 'Tighten Up'

any advances?

Oh and did you enjoy Shakey?

It's pretty good isn't it? I love the stuff when they're recording On The Beach. I want to try a honeyslide.

yeah, i just finished this afternoon

it's very good. monumentally detailed and very insightful, a great achievement. its a great read for a fan like me and makes me realise that even though ive been a fan for 5 years or more, ive barely scratched the surface of his work. its taken me months to read so i cant actually remember what a honeyslide is, sounds nice though.

what?

How have you not read Great Gatsby or Day of the Triffids or One Hundred years... yet? Seriously.

Fear And Loathing on the campaign trail, in light of current events

then Dispatches.

then Marquez.

I wish I could read those 3 books for the first time again. Especially Dispatches. That book was my Catcher in the Rye.

!

Fitzgerald or Marquez. I could read both again and again and again. Fitzgerald's turn of phrase is consistently incredible

Gatsby
