Songs about sport (but not team songs or by sportspeople)

Yes, I'm doing another blog themed compilation and have come up well short. Songs about sportspeople (Hurricane, Billy Bragg's God's Footballer) are fine, Cup final songs aren't, the less obvious the sport the better.

I heard that song ages ago on Gideon Coe's show and bloody loved it. However Ididn't know who it was by, with the title being fairly ungoogleable.

I'm sure there are two bands called The Hitchers

The Hitchers you want (if there are actually two, and I'm not drunk) did an album called 'It's All Fun And Games 'Til Someone Loses An Eye'. It's bloody brilliant.

Not only does it have Strachan on it, it also has an ace two-minute pop song called 'You Can Only Love Someone So Much But You Can Hate Them All The Way To Hell'. Added to the fact that their singer was also called Niall Quinn, and they're pretty much the best band in the history of everything ever.

The best though is clearly 'Theme From Sportsnet' by The Clint Boon Experience. It's a b-sdie to 'Earworm' (I think) and is frankly fucking incredible. It's just a list of sports over some brilliantly cheesy theme-tune style keyboard and guitar stuff.
