Is anyone else extremely disappointed by this album?
Just listening to it pre ATP, I really dislike the sound they've gone for on this release. Its horrible mystical old fashioned prog rock. Makes me feel like they should be singing about elves and stuff.

it's awesome. Everything sounds wonderful, and the organ/keyboard parts are great. Tyrants and Bright Lights are epic to the point of parody, too.

They're up against Pissed Jeans at ATP so there was never really a contest there.

Only thing that surprised me is that they're playing the Lo-Fi Folk festival in Paris with Jesse Sykes, Marissana Nadler and Phosphorecent...
This album "bores the shit out of me".
Little dollops actually fall out as I'm listening to it.
Old school prog done a million times before. I actually thought one song was a cover, I think it was the 2nd one.
That comment might be a lot more worthwhile
if Black Mountain actually sounded like a prog rock band. They don't. They sound like Black Sabbath and Blue Cheer.
