Tiny droppers of various colours of dye up his sleeve. He'd only really need red, yellow and blue, he could mix all the secondary colours from those.

My dad's a member of the magic circle,
and used to do tricks at children's birthday parties and that sort of thing.
So, yeah I guess.
just as long as he didn't do a trick
which impressed all the kids, then reveal how it was done.
an old friend's uncle is a magician and he used to cut the friend's mum's wedding ring in half and stuff at parties. it always infuriated me to find out how he did it.
He never actually told me how they were done.
I just usually guessed after seeing them so many times.
