infact, just put it on now to remind me. agree with the morningtheft on the two best tracks.
soundtracked my college years aswell as getting me into loads of heavier music i wouldnt of touched on to before. id perhaps even include At The Drive In in that...
Gutted when my itunes decided to delete everything, thus meaning I had to start over again, which comes to the conclusion of no 100 Broken Windows pleasure for my ears.
but despite seeing them on pretty much every tour since 1000 Broken Windows was out, I'd never heard them play it live, until last year. I could have wept. That song still gives me tingles.
is the best they've ever done. there's still all the heavy/noisey stuff but more melody than the first record. really well produced too. i can't fault a song on there. 'the bronze medal' is the winner in my eyes.
shame it all went a bit tits up after that really!
You know, the funny thing when I was listening to it was the grim realisation that it's been 8 fucking years since its release...it was a real 'moment' for me, realising that.
So when I got home, I had food, watched Eastenders and went straight to bed.
seems to be at every gig I ever go to. Seriously. I always end up standing behind him. I thought it was just Edinburgh gigs, but he's popped up in Glasgow too.
bestestestest
loved it
still very good now,
or even if it came out now i thinks
And it still is
But good memories of the time, yep. Sigh!
I dont have the map
makes me tingle abit!
Idlewild's best
Let Me Sleep Next To The Mirror and Idea Track. Awesome.
Let Me Sleep Next to the Mirror
is one of my fav songs ever. It sounds well good early in the morning when I'M waiting for the bus
its amazing

I've lost my copy

not as good as hope is important
IMHO.
it's just as good now!
i think i got it a year after it was relased though so maybe i can't comment.
they're doing a small tour in july:
2nd: Birmingham, Gee Club
3rd: London, ULU
4th: Manchester, Ruby Lounge
Brilliant then
Still brilliant now. I love Idlewild.
Really odd
but I listened to this on the way home t'other day.
Let Me Sleep Next... is my favourite.
has always been my favourite song of theirs
but despite seeing them on pretty much every tour since 1000 Broken Windows was out, I'd never heard them play it live, until last year. I could have wept. That song still gives me tingles.
100, even
oops
i think the whole thing

Quite.
And after a record of such perfection.

bit gutting really
they've never been able to come close to it. having said that, it's a pretty good achievement to have made a record you can't find a weak track on.
but yeah, 8 years. where did all the time/decent songs/bob go?! i loved bob.
Bob
seems to be at every gig I ever go to. Seriously. I always end up standing behind him. I thought it was just Edinburgh gigs, but he's popped up in Glasgow too.
WHAT!!!!!^^^^
Seriously dude, you can hardly refer to THE REMOTE PART as going "tits up".
After the remote part however it went a little wonky cock!
ah well
bits of it i wasn't that into. it is still a good record, you're right mate.
i think i was merely comparing it to how good i think 100 broken windows is - i.e. flawless pretty much.
haha, and for the record "went a little wonky cock" is now my favourite expression!
Definatly their best album
I love it so so much, even now
The albums released either side of it were pretty good too, although their last 2 were quite patchy.
yeah, i think the remote part is as good as 100 broken windows
not better than it - but just as good.
the new album is good too - warnings promises is the only weak point in their catologue
nah
I think the new one's even worse than Warnings/Promises.
100 Broken Windows is comfortably their best though. The one-two of Idea Track and Let Me Sleep Next To The Mirror is so, so awesome.
I'm still pissed off with them
they were supposed to play in Swansea when Captain came out and no showed. Haven't given 100 broken windows much of a chance. Maybe I will now. Maybe.
you should
its very good
okey
doke
ahhh yes.......
Love '100 Broken Windows'. It also reminds me of my late school / college days.
Ah i think 'Warnings/Promises' is ok, whereas the newesr record is very very weak.
Ahhhhh
My Fav album of all time!
.
"DISatisfied"
Best guitar feedback bit
ever on Rosability.
