Another stuttering electro-shock, pow-r-ball performance from Johnny Foreigner tonight in Glasgow. I love you. One day I will see you play in a decent venue, though. Also, one day Alexei's guitar will be so loud that I will look back through my brains to the days it was far too quiet with tears on my face. Until then, however, turn it up already Mr. Soundman.
The Mae Shi are like XBXRX doing The Go! Team. One of my pet peeves is seeing guitarists rock out, but not being able to make out what they're playing through all the muck. I like tough riffs and I like clear, ringing, confident chordage. I was putting this down to the "muddy" sound, but then they played Run To Your Grave and, lo and behold, everything became clear, you could hear a band playing a song. That was a nice moment. Kudos on the Oxes-esque wireless guitar pack carnage too.
Thanks to DiS for holding a competition that I totally won so that a very poor person who loves Jofo could go see them play tonight. I have been sick this week and I went with my wee brother and it cheered me up and then i got ice cream (99p) from the 24hr McDonalds. Much love DiS, much love <3

I didn't know any of the songs though and, as i said above, it kinda sounded like they were rolling around in sound muck, so it was almost lost on me.
I have been listening to their last album loads
so knew most of what they were doing. They were just wicked fun though and got loads of us involved which was wicked. JoFo where ace too I hadn't seen them before and I was impressed.

I saw them last night in Aberdeen
and they were great. RIP the SXSW wristband though. The improvised setlist was a sgood as any. My mate who bought the CD befor ethe boucners told us to fuck off is a convert.
