rory - boy
ophelia - girl

i really like tigerlily too....

george!

if im really unlucky and have three boys

rory is a girls name!

well, not really. But always for me.

there was a boy at school called rory

he had good arms, i've never known of a girl called rory.

i think it sounds quite cool though, cute when they are little and strong sounding when older..

rory/lorelai gilmore

4ever.

hmm

I thought Ophelia was one of those names no-one would choose, because of its connotations of suicide, madness and victimhood... from Hamlet and subsequent paintings and other art.

thats one of the reasons i like the name so much

there is so much beautiful imagery associated with it.

emo!

;)

boy will be wolfie or casper

girl will be something geldof-esque

sadpunk

Dean
THE END OF DOOM

:D

If I ever have kids...

Dante for a boy, and I can't think of a decent girls name.

How is that too easy?

I don't know many people called Dante...

Kind of

My friends have just named their child Dante. Best name ever.

I meant it was too easy

to make a gag about the fact you want to call a boy Dante but can't think of a decent girls name

At the moment

Eleanor Dylan for a girl (will be known as Dylan)
Cole Arthur for a boy

Roly Poly

Stukka
The Conqueror

RUAIRIDH

we've just had this thread

Seamus
and another name that is my perfect baby name and i can't divulge it because of baby-name stealy types and that

i'm not having kids though.

Hughey

*pooey

Tyler

tristan

and capian

maybe...
WOOO MIDDLE CLASS R US

Captain maybe

caspian

oops

I think about this way too much

And am kinda fussy

Boys:

Jesse
Wyatt (so I possibly should watch fewer Westerns)

Girls:

Laurel
Blair (in honour of GUESS WHO)
and maybe Noƫlle and Linnet. But not so much.

And that's literally every name in existence I like to any degree.

BLAIR?

You sicko.

Maybe

or Jesse from Before Sunrise/Sunset, or from the Gilmore Girls, or Yu-Gi-Oh.

There's so many to choose from.

Linda Blair?

Lionel?

Leonard

Dr. Chuckles
Satan
Hot Shot
Mister Frisky

hi

reece, maureece and ethen with maureece as a middle name.

yuck

Amelie Mica Pickering

first born girl. I had a full list, but I've forgotten the combination of first and middle names.

actually

that sounds good in my head, but written down looks a bit shit. Hmmm.

Roy

Cat Puncher
NOM NOM
Lord Mibbles

I like Elliott for a boy or girl

Thats about as kooky as I'd get though. I've always liked the name Niamh too.

That said, I'd like to have a daugther called Jennifer after my Dad's mum who died when he was a kid

ergh

Darcy is such a horrible American high school type name.

Woody, for a boy (obviously).

Bowie

My daughters

are called Hope and Isobel.

and yes I am a big Mazzy Star / Bel and Seb fan.

real answer:

i quite like lewis, andrew and anthony (but NOT tony) for boys and sophie and hazel for girls.
fascinating.

I've always though

Charlotte was a pretty name, so I'd be inclined to use that for a girl. For a boy it'd have to be something football-related, though I'd imagine Eric and Cristiano are non-starters.

Dunno

I like Zoe, Emily and Anna for a girl.

I used to like Ben for a boy, but then I met thewarn, so that's out now. Same with Bamos.

I might just call him Sam after me. Or RapMaster 3000.

Last year at a festival

I met a mum, dad and baby all called Sam :o)

Excellent work

:D

There's no sneaking a reference past you, is there?

:D

Nope!

Darcy is a good girls name too

Like as in Darcy Bussel.

I also like Ophelia though.

DARCEY

DARCEY Bussell.

(BUSSELL)

My sons ARE called

Troy and Callum

^

is that irish? i seem to love all irish boys' names.

yes it is irish

THeir great grandmama complained about The name Troy and hoped we would christen him a good god fearing name.....but we didn't.
I did however tell their names to 4 corners of the earth and the winds on top glastonbury tor and chucked some water on em, so I have 'named' them ritualistically.

Just realised that Creakyknees's son

IS called Callum. I'm really sorry, I should read spawn posts first :-S

Fieldy's Nuts

MUNKY!

Pearson if I have a boy

and Nigel Pearson if I have a girl.

I hope it's a girl. Or a boy

Gla(a)ynche for a girl

William V1.01 for a boy.

...

i want to reclaim Paris as a boy's name...

as for girls umm Cordelia...to keep up the Shakespeare theme with less madness...

I worked

with a girl with the surname Kenhard. We tried our best to get her to call her son Fu.

Smee

Im having a boy

called sebastian. he'll wear dungarees.

hasn't this been done?

anyway, Oscar, Elliot, Joshua for boys
Annabel, Marianne/Mary-Anne for girls

um...

Kerouac (shortens to Kes) for a boy
Rose-Willow for a girl

Possibly

Ruan/Francis for a boy
Mia for a girl

Damn

What happened the classics, like Jack and Sarah?

These names all reek of a certain background. Not that that's bad, but I wouldn't want my kids to introduce themselves and instantly be labelled from a certain class just because of their name. Names do influence first impressions like that.

I hope a lot of these people

don't breed. Some of the names are on par with Chardonnay, Prada etc that get ripped apart on here.

Aye, it is a bit hypocritical

Names that are self-consciously 'different' tend to just come across as either pretentious, snobbish, or crass.

There are a few exceptions, but they are rare. Dylan seems to be one of those, can go either way.

Kerouac?

Even I'm not that pretentious!

Luca

as in the Brand New song / dog from the Barleycorn pub.

I don't have any boys names I like really

And only really want girls anyway.

Charlotte (known as Charlie)
Harriot (known as Harry)
Elliot

I've just realised that these all end in 'Ott' and that two are linked with the royal family but oh well.

GALACTICSTAR3RUPTION
