Is Cadence Weapon good live?

I have a ticket for Animal Collective / Atlas Sound but it's the same night as Cadence Weapon. The latter costs 1/3 of the former and i know people who've seen A.C. before and had nothing but horror stories.

So basically i want to know if it's worth switching these?

I would go see Atlas Sound

over all of those artists I love them so much. I havent heard any of the others music mind... apart from the video of Credance Weapon on the singles run down which is quite cool.

Do it, he's amazing!

I love AC too but CW rocks the party

yeah, when i saw Deerhunter

before i wasn't too impressed, so think Atlas Sound may be the same (as much as i love them on CD).

A/C have a bad name for themselves live, from what i hear.

I got the idea CW would be really upbeat, fun and dancey

I'm seeing Cadence Weapin this Thursday

I'll let you know how he is.

yes, please do.

It sounds like the kinda thing that'd transfer very, VERY well live.

Downside to choosing him, however, is that it's in a pub

i would...

go for cadence weapon. animal collective were awful when i saw them.

hopefully i'll be seeing him this weekend along with yeasayer and no age at nastyfest.

I saw Cadence Weapon once

and it was one of the most fun gigs I've ever been to. But then I saw him another time and it wasn't so much fun. I hope this post have been of use to you.

Amersham Arms in February, maybe?

Well, definitely at the Amersham Arms. Maybe not in February. Around then though.

.

He's great live.

Just to give a slightly different perspective...

Animal Collective are one of the best bands I've seen live and of the three times I've seen them, they haven't been anything less than terrific.

They're not everyone's cup of tea though.

animal collective are always different live

they go phases, a year or two back it was all wall of sound delay drenched guitar, which might disappoint some people. right now they've got this great electronic set going on, its really tight and clear, almost the complete opposite of the feels/people tours stuff. plus they do some awesome reworking of sung tongs/campfire songs stuff. and atlas sound should be pretty cool. that said, i really really like cadence weapon too.

best thing to do would be to see animal collective and then see cadence weapon with countless great bands (no age, mae shi, yeasayer plus more) at nasty fest in leeds next saturday. only £12, perfect
