It's delicious...yeah, you may well associate it with the 80s, an era when everyone was fairly easily impressed...Coke, Sprite, Fanta that was pretty much it then...SHAZAM! Out come a variation on Coke with the added zing of that bittersweet cherry taste.
I've just rediscovered the taste, this shall be the summer of Cherry Coke, it could well be the best mixer ever.
Speaking of sugary carbonated drinks, is Vanilla Coke still out there? I haven't seen it for ages, I used to love it with bourbon.
Cherry Coke aside, there remains a hole in my heart that can only be filled by the sheer majesty of Fanta Mango, Christ that was delicious. That Fanta Fruit Twist comes quite close to replicating the taste, but still doesn't quite hit the spot.
Does anyone else remember it? When I was living in Germany in the late 80s it was all the rage, it came in a yellow/red. That really was the nicest drink of all time, I could never find it in the UK, but the Germans loved it, if you had a can of Fanta Mango, a currywurst and a little paper plate of chips from the schnell imbiss that was pretty much all you could ever wish for.
I am quitting my job so shall spend the rest of today trying to find an importer for the aforementioned Fanta.

Yet here's a strange thing - ammaretto and coke tastes like cheery coke, but ammaretto and cherry coke strangely doesn't taste as nice.
I don't remember Mango Fanta, though. Maybe it was a territory thing. When I was in Tanzania they had passionfruit fanta, holy shit it's the nicest thing EVER I couldn't stop drinking it. But sadly as all drinks there come in glass bottles which you have to return I couldn't bring any back with me
