Hell Is For Heroes

covering The Smiths 'How Soon Is Now'
Plainly for the fact that they did absolutely fuck all with it!

you mean hundred reasons?

they did it on a smiths covers album that was nearly all bad

That live bootleg

where Muse cover Lightning Bolt. Both great bands, but that sucks.

although it was totally worth it

for that sarcastic response lightning bolt put up..

what was it?

link?

link?

yeah

The Lightning Bolt cover is just utter shite
Message: Don't fuck with Lightning Bolt

urgh.

I just sicked up a little bit.

that's one of the funniest things i've ever heard

:D

I literally can't stop laughing at her vocals in the verse. Absolute gold.

Winner by miles

that's so bad it's incredible. But yeah, truedat on the verse vox

Undisputed winner.

</thread>

in the 2nd verse

there's one line where she just says

"wheooroeooroeorooeorooeoroeroooor"

Definite thread winner

There's

a chance she was joking. Although she's never provided much evidence of a sense of humour in the past.

The Editors covering The Cure's Lullaby

they sound like they have had a sense of humour by pass.

odd ^^

you seem to be implying that editors NORMALLY have a sense of humour?

^ Brusma, thanks for bringing that to my attention!

i actually like them a bit more for that impassiioned defence. But its still a rubbish cover version. And they are not as good as Interpol.

they did

a disgustingly insipid cover of Orange Crush too. And somehow got an REM support slot out of it.

it's worth noting at this point

that Hear'Say once released a cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water"

Creep

by Korn

I wish I could find the version that television comedy sensation Patrick Kielty used to sing at the end of the Last Chance Lottery - I'm sure that was a gem.

oh my god

i can't belive no-one has posted this...

take that do nirvana

counting crows sucking all the life out of yellow taxi

i would link it but i'm not cruel enough to do that to you.

Orgy - Blue Monday

Curiously, it is also the best cover ever.

Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before...

...by Mark Ronson.

Funnily enough, I heard it without knowing who or what Mark Ronson was; a client and friend of mine was pitching to do the video, and played it for me to gauge my response. My response, after 90 seconds, was "please make it stop".

Just the bombastis, earnest Rob D-ness of it made me ill.

Very well said.

The earnestness of it is the killer. It's just raped the original of all the wit and humour.

When Morrissey goes "I never, I never" like a chastened schoolboy, its hilarious.

When anonymous, OTT-soul guy does it, you automatically punch yourself in the face and turn it off.

And with ref to ^, I think Lavigne is joking, and credit to her for that - but it still qualifies just because it sounds so amazingly horrible
