fairly

large, with war memorabilia glazed in to the bar and an old telephone box you can go and... well, stand in. good in-house sound system. low, weird-shaped stage. raised area at the back with wooden slab tables and stools if you don't fancy being stuck stood at the front. it's fine, and actually has loads of promise - it's just marketed pretty terribly (the logo, the regular nights both sell the place really badly. plus Danny McNamara telling everyone in the Guardian Guide that it's the place to go if you wanna hear some Stone Roses hits, blah blah, totally gives it a bad name).

the smaller VIP room at the side of the main room would make a really great 70-capacity venue or something, too. lots of sofas, cushions and twinkly lights, with its own bar and DJ booth. people should put stuff on there sometime...
