Well, I've never seen a king of beasts
With quite so little hair
I'm gonna be the mane event
Like no king was before
I'm brushing up on looking down
I'm working on my ROAR
Thus far, a rather uninspiring thing
Oh, I just can't wait to be king!
(You've rather a long way to go, young master,
if you think...)
No one saying do this
(Now when I said that, I -)
No one saying be there
(What I meant was...)
No one saying stop that
(Look, what you don't realize...)
No one saying see here
(Now see here!)
Free to run around all day
(Well, that's definitely out...)
Free to do it all my way!
I think it's time that you and I
Arranged a heart to heart
Kings don't need advice
From little hornbills for a start
If this is where the monarchy is headed
Count me out!
Out of service, out of Africa
I wouldn't hang about
This child is getting wildly out of wing
Oh, I just can't wait to be king!
Everybody look left
Everybody look right
Everywhere you look I'm
Standing in the spotlight!
Not yet!
Let every creature go for broke and sing
Let's hear it in the herd and on the wing
It's gonna be King Simba's finest fling
Oh, I just can't wait to be king!
Oh, I just can't wait to be king!
Oh, I just can't waaaaaait ... to be king!
but the Lion King. It's just so affecting. We had to watch it in the assembly hall once in p5 when it was raining, and i gave myself the worst throat ache ever trying not to cry in front of the whole school. I had all the merchandise as well, inclusing Simba himself.
Actually, the Lion King may be my favourite film ever.
and zazu, back in the day. i wish i had the pictures still. and i had one of those awesome cases with the crayons and felt tip pens from the disney shop. it was like my pride and joy, i never had a lot of stuff as a kid 'cause my family didn't have much money 'till i hit my teens, but lion king pens were like the best thing EVER.
Atlantis, the lost world. This was my hangover film for a year or two. It's pretty gash, but it does star Michael J Fox as the main guys voice! Result.
during some kind of lower school dance class. Thus starting my obsession with turning songs into football related ones. I think we managed to get Chris Kiwomya in there as well somewhere.
Um, I dunno why but I've LOVED it since I first saw it aged 7. Second favourite - Beauty and the Beast. I think I just like the slightly 'darker' Disney films.
They only played 3 SHTS songs (all superbly) and 2 new ones (very much in SHTS vain) albeit to no crowd reaction whatsoever. There were maybe 10 of us moving at all. Untillllllllll.....the criminally awful debut songs were played (in mass). I hate over 14s gigs.
which ones did they play off SHTS?did they sound ace though i mean the band not the songs cos whenever iv watched videos of them on youtube and whatnot they sounded a bit weak.well his voice did anyway :S

"as far as brains go, i got the lions share,
but when it comes to BRUTE STRENGTH, i'm afraid i'm at the shallow end of the gene pool"
the best song....
I'm gonna be a mighty king
So enemies beware!

Armageddon
beauty and the beast
by such a large margin
i hate choosing
but the Lion King. It's just so affecting. We had to watch it in the assembly hall once in p5 when it was raining, and i gave myself the worst throat ache ever trying not to cry in front of the whole school. I had all the merchandise as well, inclusing Simba himself.
Actually, the Lion King may be my favourite film ever.
i used to paint simba
and zazu, back in the day. i wish i had the pictures still. and i had one of those awesome cases with the crayons and felt tip pens from the disney shop. it was like my pride and joy, i never had a lot of stuff as a kid 'cause my family didn't have much money 'till i hit my teens, but lion king pens were like the best thing EVER.
oh and i used to take my notes in VI form
on a lion king notepad.
i think i might cry right now
it also the first film i saw at the cinema and the soundtrack was my first CD.
i'm not crying
false alarm.
i'm the one watching it!
i might be crying in like an hour. oh jeeze when mufasa dies...
you know its going to happen
which somehow makes it even sadder. the people who made it are very, very clever.
Aristocats
or Fern Gully.
Or Signs- hahaha.
yayy
i want to call my first cat tolouse
Aristocats is up there
one of the best Disney soundtracks.
Alice In Wonderland
or Robin Hood.
oh man
Robin Hood <3
I remember the copy we have which was taped from the telly and Feivel Goes West was after it :D
:D
mine was taped off the telly as well! Ah man, that film was ace.
I cried at the end of The Lion King
amazing scenes.
awwww
Was Land before the time Disney?
That almost got me as a kid...
nah, i think that was warner.
infact i'm pretty sure it was.
we had to watch that in school too
and i actually did cry and embarass myself greatly :(
The Jungle Book
Fantasia
Dumbo
Also
The Sword In The Stone
Alice In Wonderland
The question wasn't 'Name as many as you can'.
But well done anyway, you've had a good try x
*good cry x
Treasure Planet
is the bestist by miles I love that film even though I aint been a fan of Disney for a very very long time.
no one has seen it have they
its so good people should see it, surly it aint a obscure film its freakin disney
Probably as many people have seen it as
Atlantis, the lost world. This was my hangover film for a year or two. It's pretty gash, but it does star Michael J Fox as the main guys voice! Result.
Obvs not nominating
Atlantis as best Disney film though! Just to be sure.
I used to be convinced that all the animals
were singing "ARSENE WENGER" at the start of The Lion King when they're singing abou the circle of life.
Dumbo is also incredible, the pink elephants section used to really confuse me as a child.
We actually sang this at school
during some kind of lower school dance class. Thus starting my obsession with turning songs into football related ones. I think we managed to get Chris Kiwomya in there as well somewhere.
I haven't seen one for years
but I used to chain watch Lady and the Tramp
the jungle book
or aristocats. Running with the classics here. Disney is rubbish now; pixar's where it's at
lion king
IS a classic.
but it has really sad bits
like bambi :-(
and also words of priceless wisdom.
"i eat like a pig"
"pumba: you ARE a pig"
Mighty Ducks!

The Brave Little Toaster
I think I'm the only person in the world who's never seen the Lion King
!!!!
http://www.omegatube.com/The-Lion-King-info.html
BRAVE LITTLE TOASTER!
I'm pretty sure that wasn't Disney, but fuck it, what an amazing film.
It's on wikipedia's list of Disney films
(I had to look because I couldn't think of any good Disney films that I'd actually seen)
American animation
...always freaks me out whenever I see it now. It looks all wrong. So wrong.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Um, I dunno why but I've LOVED it since I first saw it aged 7. Second favourite - Beauty and the Beast. I think I just like the slightly 'darker' Disney films.
those two completely slipped my mind
lack of watching has made me a disney amateur
beauty and the beast rocks!
has no one said aladdin?
it is a work of genius from start to finish. definitely my favourite disney film
it is brillaint.
but it's no lion king.
as much as i love the lion king
i think aladdin has it beat. its a close run thing though
i think aladdin is the funniest Disney film
i could be wrong.
can i call you Al?
or maybe just Din?
The Rescuers
CLASSIC
interesting too
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rescuers#Controversy
i think
Jungle Book is second, then Alice in Wonderland.
Robin Hood
you bunch of gaylords
ahhhhhhhh yes
i forgot that one. Bedknobs and Broomsticks is pretty good too. And The Sword & The Stone.
BEST THREAD EVER :D
the aristocats
Alice In Wonderland / The Sword in the Stone / The Jungle Book
the sword in the stone?!
are you trying to dispute this?
yes.
finch good?
no, it was turbo-gash and i left early.
Also: The Sword in the Stone is a beast!! In addition, see: Aladdin, The Lion King, The Rescuers, Robin Hood
what why?no gash :(
you left out peter pan
Oops. Aye, Peter Pan.
They only played 3 SHTS songs (all superbly) and 2 new ones (very much in SHTS vain) albeit to no crowd reaction whatsoever. There were maybe 10 of us moving at all. Untillllllllll.....the criminally awful debut songs were played (in mass). I hate over 14s gigs.
well just as long as the new songs sound like SHTS im happy
which ones did they play off SHTS?did they sound ace though i mean the band not the songs cos whenever iv watched videos of them on youtube and whatnot they sounded a bit weak.well his voice did anyway :S
voice very strong.
SHTS songs = the first two (can't remember names) and one towards the end (not Gak 2 unfortunately).
New EP due out in July. Debut album to Oxfam tonight.
I asked the same question to Stephen Fry. He said:
Fantasia, Snow White and Beauty & The Beast
Benson Butters prefers Hannah-Barbera to Disney
The Incredibles
fucking Tron
actually not as good as the lion king. but still brilliant
The Lion King. Easily
The Black Hole
Dumbo AND Sword in the Stone
And also the Little Mermaid.
