just got back to london, broke, exhausted and passionately in love with mono and jens lekman. trail of dead made the earth move, dinosaur kept up their legendary status and de la soul werew just the most fun you can legally have.
such a great, positive atmosphere, kind, polite people...just amazing.
my only let-downs really were the headliners on the pavillion stage but thats not what i was there for anyway.
roll on N B C!!
highlights anyone?
hey! sorry.
pointless thread starting sucks...didnt see the thread already up.
apologies...but my mind aint workin' straight!
the national
the national
the national
the national
clearly enjoyed
the national then?
only saw a couple of songs due to my lifelong allegiance to dinosaur!
i just saw dino
on the friday
i take it they played freak scene on saturday?
also; i missed the start of silver jews; did malkmus actually play with them because i saw him afterwards...
I KNEW I saw him there!!!
I missed the start of Silver Jews as well
due to a misguided choice of Atlas Sound - won't be doing that again.
I didn't know Malkmus was at ATP.
freak scene
was indeed on saturday and yeah, the 'sometimes i don't..' breakdown was singalongadino-tastic.
pretty sure malkmus didnt play but yeah im sure he was there...
SAw the last couple of songs, thought it was a bit average
Saw Dino Jr. that night though which was !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did a long reply in the music forum
But Beach House (no1 star pick), Dinosaur Jr., Jens Lekman, Ghostface, Broken Social Scene and Envy all slaughtered me. Seeing Tony Teardrop's first ever show was nice too.
It's over now and that's sad.
Malkmus...
didn't play. I can only assume he refused on the grounds of the horrible band outfit of Ill-fitting suits and red shirts. What ARE you Tony Crow? Berman looked so fucked I felt like crying.
the guy from Battles looks a lot like Malkmus
so would guess it was him?
Also, the Atlas Sound guy has the oddest shaped body ever.
he does
look alot like him...but surely i would have clicked to that having seen battles...wouldn't i? maybe should have taken off my stupid sunglasses...
people
with his condition do usual have "odd shaped" bodies...
Awesome time
I thought Battles were simply amazing. I went both times despite stupid Butlins people trying to thwart us. I can't stop listening to Atlas
Worlds End Girlfriend also wins on the "pleasant surprise for a band I knew nothing about". They were incredible, such glitch beats
I second that about
Worlds end Girlfriend - fucking brilliant.
Envy were amazing too!
And Saul Williams - stunning.
More to say but lack of sleep and far too many photos to look at means my brain is broken... :(
....
I'm also totally in love with Jens Lekman - that show broke my heart. And Dinosaur Jr. Blew me away... But yeah I thought explosions were kind of boring....just me?
no they were awfully dull
they are awfully dull*
