Crystal Castles have basically rearranged the Lo Bat song and added vocals. Pretty shit if you ask me.

the thing i read was a compilation of all the things they stole, turns out that madonna picture with a black eye was stolen and despite knowing they're still selling t-shirts and seem to not want to pay the artist anything.
even their logo is a rip of chanel, but that must've been deliberate.

They attempted to nick my friend's keyboard stand when they supported Crystal Castles. CC obviously didn't know they'd be supporting them two days later. Idiots.

CC is great but
it's not really enforced, it comes across as more of a plea than a rule. Flickr actively uses the Creative Commons licenses on photos but still hundreds, if not thousands of photos get used against the wishes off the author. It's difficult to argue something isn't in the public domain the moment you place it in public internet space.
Therefore, it's not great
If it's in place to protect something and it clearly doesn't matter if it fails, then there's no point in it existing.
What it stands for
is great, and it deserves to be enforced and recognised. As the article clearly says, it's a part of the solution not the problem.

i'd definitely say Covox have a copyright claim against CC, you are copyrighted once you make anything, regardless of release, i'd stick it to them and get a lawsuit on the go!

I quite like some Crystal Castles songs, (if indeed they're all really Crystal Castles songs after all). But discovering this has made me quite glad I stole their album off the internet, rather than paying for it. Seems appropriate somehow.
