sorry I've probably missed this but what have AC been playing on this tour? The same set as in October or something completely different? Massively excited either way.

theyve been playing ACDC covers for half the set then the entirety of strawberyy jam
Same songs which they were recording in january and toured for the last year
a new one called "lion in a coma" and a couple of reworkings of grass and chocolate girl and a couple of updates of the new songs too.
CHOCOLATE GIRL???

bf

i'm not sure if they've been playing it in the UK shows.
Also for fireworks/essplode
they're extending it ridiculously long and giving geologist a sample solo.
I'm so pissed i've got exams.
thankyou x 100000000
also does anyone know the stage times for tonight?
I've lost my tickets for tonight
argh
argh
argh
argh
ARGH.
ac
anyone aware of the piano house monster they played as their last one at ATP? unstoppable beast.

Is it correct that Atlas Sound were the support?
If so how was that live?
i like the Atlas Sound record
but live i was quite dissapointed, Bradford with help from a band called Broadcast - very very slow and boring
That's a shame
I love the album, but wondered about whether it could be recreated live. I like Broadcast as well, but they were also dissapointing live the one time I saw them, doesn't sound like a great combination.
Sexist bastard
animal collective were amazing in leeds last night
didn't think too much to atlas sound. it didn't really go anywhere and everyone was sitting on the floor whilst watching him!
they were!
Totally amazing in every way possible.
Although I never expect to see purple bottle. Man I love that track sooo much :(
going
tonight vs. eating for the next 5 days.
i just don't know.
well,
that was fucking amazing, even by Animal Collective's outrageously high standards. The setlist, for people who care about stuff like that:
Chocolate Girl (!!)
Comfy in Nautica
Peacebone
Leaf House
Daily Routine
Bearhug
Fireworks/Essplode/Fireworks
Lion In A Coma
House
Song For Ariel
Brother Sport
---------------
Nomorerunnin'
Grass
Yeah, I thought it was bloody brilliant.
I went for Atlas Sound (and that was only because I was desperate to see something akin to Deerhunter), but AC blew me away.
I enjoyed AS but there was a gaggle of annoying Americans yakking throughout his set behind me.
AC- incredibly loud, incredible sounds, huge amounts of fun.
Twas feckin awesome.
There were plenty of twats there though. One dude was so pissed he'd fallen asleep over the barrier! And if the girl I kept head-butting reads this then I'm really sorry. I did put on my hat to try and cushion any further blows.
i
can't hear a fucking thing.
was stood next to the speaker panda bear side the whole time.
amazing.
yeh was damn loud
i had ear plugs on and even i thought it was getting a bit stupid.
some people are gona have sqealing ears for days.
was a great show though, really good set i thought.
awesome
so so good
atlas sound can be tough work at times, but i did quite enjoy it
was panda bear there?
Haven't seen him play with them for about the last year or so...Wasn't with them on saturday at ATP. No fair if he was at the gig last night. Saw them in October and thought they were amazing but they just keep getting better. I find it so exciting that they move on to new ground so quickly. Like when they played the coronet last july they did one song of Feels and the rest was material newer than Strawberry Jam, and they hadn't even released strawberry jam at that point. Awesomely marvellous
he was with them on Saturday.
I'm pretty sure he was with them on the October tour too
it's Deakin
who hasn't been touring with them.
he was with them last night too
comfy in nautica was AMAZING! what is panda bear like when he plays on his own? i would like to see that.
..

panda bear live
is brilliant.
he pretty much never plays though, i wish he would. the peoples love him.
could someone correct me where i'm wrong here please?
my AC knowledge isn't as obsessive as some of you but i want it to be!
Chocolate Girl (!!) - Sung Tongs?
Comfy in Nautica - Panda Bear
Peacebone - Strawberry Jam
Leaf House - new?
Daily Routine - new?
Bearhug - new?
Fireworks/Essplode/Fireworks - SJ/new/SJ
Lion In A Coma - new?
House - new?
Song For Ariel - new?
Brother Sport - new?
---------------
Nomorerunnin' - new?
Grass - Feels
.
chocolate girl - spirit they're gone, spirit they've vanished
leaf house - first track on sung tongs
fireworks/essplode/fireworks - sj/danse manatee/sj
and as far as i know the rest are new.
ok
chocolate girl is on spirit they've gone, spirit they've vanished.. essplode is on danse manatee. there's a double cd out with both albums on, highly recommended.
leaf house is the first track on sung tongs. the rest are new i guess..
last night was really brilliant. considering the sound at koko is never more than average at best. Brother Sport is just so so good!
Panda Bear
definitely not in the lineup. Not seen him since they played over 2 years ago. They don't seem to suffer without him but can't help thinking he would bring even more awesomeness to their live show. It's defo Deakin, they sort of look alike...
dear jumps...
it is panda bear I can assure you. deakin hasn't toured here for sometime. they don't really look alike. deakin is tall with wonderful posture, and panda bear is smaller, bad posture and shaggy hair. maybe listen back to yesterdays George Lamb session where he talks/introduces himself.
^this
it is Panda Bear.
Yep
sorry to harp on. My bad. What the fuck is Deakin doing then? Is there another amazing solo project to look out for?
I think...
it's simply as there name suggests. they are a collective and free to play whenever they want, and when they don't, the band adapt. deakin plays on records, and tours the states, but for whatever reason doesn't at this time want to tour europe. all power to him. I bet a lot of musicians wish they were in such a position.
Listen to the radio thing
they talk about being a collective.
At the moment he's working on solo stuff (which he'll probably never release), remixes, artwork for the live boxset (maybe) and music for the film they're doing.
He's not a part of this "LP9" era just like he wasn't on sung tongs or danse or spirit or hollindagain.
brilliant gig
was the first time I've seen Animal Collective live and I thought they were fantastic. Are they normally this good? It was much more of a conventional gig than I expected (i.e. actually playing clearly recognisable songs) but still amazing.
