I have just revisited the album this afternoon, as they are playing a couple of the festivals I am going to this summer and it's really pretty good.

Anyone know what's happening with them e.g. will they be releasing another album anytime soon?

Alternatively release your general Howling Bells love/hate below.

Yay!

Hope it's out before the festivals.

Love.

That singer's a bit of alright!

Hate

to the ding-dongs out there that refer to them as a 'Coffee-table Throwing Muses' - twats!

* A lot

new albums

called magnificent friend..pretty alsome it is too.

ooops wrong band

need glasses

Took me a while to get into the album

But it totally blew me away when the penny finally dropped. The last few songs are just marvellous and haunting.

You got taste.

Spot on though. Most albums start well then lose steam, but it ends greatly.

Apart from the last song which I'm not a fan of. But my point still stands. I think.

The two that are siblings'

Dad wrote the last track. So that might be why? Dunno, I agree mostly. In The Woods would be a pretty good closer, because the boy's voice is pretty good. Not that Juanita Stein's isn't either, obviously, but ramblerambleramble.

Shocked and disgusted that they're not at Glastonbury.

The bands booked are almost universally horrific. HB are the perfect Glasto band, abandoned for the likes of The Enemy.

yeah

they're playing latitude though

Woop

for me.

I loved the first album

They wern't that brilliant live however, but I may have just caught them on an offday, and they were still pretty good

yeah..

you caught them on an off day. the two times i've seen them its been magical. maybe i was swayed by juanita's sheer fucking beauty, but yeah, i cant wait for the new lp.

They're astonishing live

apart from the time I saw them with my girlfriend, obviously, who now can't see why I'm so mad on them. However, first time, at the Joiners in Southampton, and third time at the Bella Union bday at Royal Festival Hall they were great. They sounded like a war in London. Just great. I want them pedals.

Ha ha yeah, but you thought they were

good when we saw them that time. They weren't bad, just...boring. I might re-assess them when we go to Latitude. I do quite like their album.

I've got very high standards for music, especially live music.

And Howling Bells are one of the few truly impressive bands I've seen that have really BLOWN ME AWAY.

I then snuck backstage and met Juanita, who was pretty much the girl of my dreams. And still is. I think she's seeing one of the band members isn't she?

They were very good the first few times I saw them

but they toured constantly for about a year without changing their set much. I don't know if I'd just seen them too many times but towards the end of the tour the live shows didn't seem that great. Brilliant album though.

Really?

Awesome. I saw them at Latitude two years ago - was pretty good as far as I can recall.
