owning and wearing a complete replica strip for the team you support about the age of 13, pretty lame?

Jerseys are alright...

....full kits make it look like your expecting to get a game.

Or you have a low mental age.

Replica shirts are indeed solely the domain

of children and people playing football.

...

I wear my jersey when I'm going to the game, I wouldn't wear it for any other reason, except to maybe play a game myself.

Wearing it to a game is less of an issue for me

I still wouldn't do it myself, though.

I can still fit into my sheffield wednesday shirt from then.

It is large boys.

Tonight I will play pretending to be Franz Beckenbauer in a Cosmos kit from Toffs.

Is it ok when you are playing?

Toffs jersey....

excellent choice.

if you were cool you'd wear different parts from several strips

like I am now (nufc 2007 home goalkeeper shorts coupled with nufc 1997 home shirt)

Not the one

with the big black thing on the back I hated that strip! Not a patch on the Grandad collar one before it that is my favourite toon shirt every!

yes the one with the shield

so you HAD to get a number put on it otherwise it looked really terrible.

1995-96? I really liked that one.

Yeah that's the one

my other favourite is this one

I got the piss taken out of me so much when they changed the sponsor back to Scottish & Newcastle and you could buy sew on blue stars. People down south really didn't understand that!

i have a 97/98 depor shirt

that i made my parents buy for my birthday even though they only had large left.
i think it was a sound investment.

just to clarify

i mean the simple looking man-child effect of wearing the shorts and shirt from the same kit

i always wear my football strip

under my clothes, just in case.

I've got

A Final Score (cheaper version of TOFFS) 1982 (I think) Sunderland away shirt (proper old badge, no sponsor crap) and a Athletic Bilbabo shirt (again, no sponsor crap) for sporting reasons, although the retro one does occasionaly get other airings as it is cool as fuck.

There's nothing wrong with people wearing replicas to the match, at any other time its a bit sad, especially when they're about 20 stone and the most sporty thing they do is lift their giro.

Full kits though: they must be mentally ill, aye?

I mean

There's nothing wrong with people wearing replicas to the match, but I'd still rather not, ta.

...

I always get my surname and an available squad number on my jersey, just on the off chance AW puts the call in.

i just like to be fully prepared

for the times when your walking past some boys playing football and they ask you to kick the ball back.

....

nah I sit a bit behind the dugout, certainly within shouting distance. One of these days, we'll be trailign 2-1, with 5 mins to go. AW will look up and it'll all make sense to him.

i have

a black man utd shirt with "J.S. Park" on the back. its more a fashion statement than anything

I thought

this thread would be about John Terry/others crying. Grow up people!

I have loads of old European club sides shirts

From travels and other people's travels. I'm sure why I bought or asked people to buy me them as I've never really worn most of them, just sit proudly away in my closet.

For instance; I have an old Lens away jersey, from the mid 90's (I loved Smicer at the time) and it multicoloured, like way ahead of it's time for nu-rave.

I also have a Ajax shirt, form the early or mid 90's. It's a bit special as it's from the Ajax school of excellence/academy. That's right people, I used to pretend I was Sonny Pike.

I'm thinking about trying to get rid of most of them on ebay.

I have a Holland shirt

from the 1994 World Cup with 11 Roy on the back.
Also have a Forest shirt from the 1978/79 season.

yeah thats sad

a shirt is ok

definitely lame

actually, I haven't even worn a football SHIRT since I was about 16.
