It's got a song called "Alex Chilton"- I always thought that was cool cause most artists just pay tribute with lip service but The Replacements will name a song after you.

I got into the Replacements a couple of months ago and basically yeah, they sound so fucking cool. You should listen to Tim as well, it's got songs on it that redefine the word 'anthem'.

are amazing. Tim, Pleased To Meet Me and Let It Be are the pick for me, and apparently all the albums are getting some deluxe reissue treatment soon. Westerberg's solo stuff is worth investigating too, esp Stereo / Mono.

Definitely in my top 10 albums ever.
All of their albums are brilliant though. I got into them after reading 'Our Band Could Be Your Life' a few years ago and pretty much have listened to it non-stop since then. The re-issues are great. Can't wait for the 'Tim' one.
the replacements
are one of those bands you love for being hopeless screw ups. I heard that after piss(ed) poor shows they used to get beat up by their fans in the parking lot. Sixteen Blue is beautiful
