Drowned in Sound

Is anyone going to the Sauchiehall Crawl this Sunday? I'm a big Twilight Sad fan so can't wait for them but was wondering does anyone rate/recommend any of the other bands playing at it, they are:

The Twilight Sad
Make Model
The Phantom Band
How to Swim
We Were Promised Jet Packs
Jo Mango
El Padre
Ross Clark
De Rosa
The Ads
Galchen

Should be a good night, only £15 a ticket!

Don't think I can make it but...

Love the Sad, Jetpacks and Galchen.

Quite like Ross Clark, who is also a sound guy. He'll probably be playing with his band.

Played a few gigs with both De Rosa and The Phantom Band: both on Chemikal Underground, both great bands. The Phantom Band, in particular, are amazing live and are also lovely fellows which is always good!

i've heard nobody on there

apart from TTS who i do not care much for, so i shan't be in attendance.

does anyone know

why Broken Records aren't playing aymore?

I don't think they ever were

they told me they were 'misinformed' about it.. they're supporting the twilight sad everywhere else so probably assumed that was the case in glasgow too...

i know

Broken Records are definetly playing Sauchiehall Crawl.

Thinking about it but am fairly skint....

I really quite like We Were Promised Jetpacks.
The Ads are quite good as well as are How to Swim. In fact its quite a good wee line up.

sauchiehall crawl

They're all good!

I'm looking forward to the aftershow parties.

Go see Galchen.

They are tops. They have a great drummer.
In fact all the bands are pretty decent - good idea all round I say.
I don't know if I'm gonna be able to go though :(

they should have called it

the sauciehall saunter, instead of nicking from the camden crawl...

Cool, thanks guys

I'm probably gonna see all the bands anyway but thanks for the tips! Does anyone know where the DJ sets are, im presuming ABC?

dj's

The aftershow parties will be in The Beat Club and Nice N Sleazy.

DJ's: Gareth from Idlewild, Pauly from My Latest Novel, Simon from Errors and Wicked Game

Possibly

Ross Clark!!! He's not a real person, just a haircut.

my sister saw him in the street once and said

"he's looks like he's from the 60s".

i think i told you this before!?

how to swim

are about to soundtrack a doritos advert.
true story.

Broken Records

Broken Records are now playing this years Sauchiehall Crawl!!

is that definite

as I emailed them and they said they weren't anymore?

Go see We Were Promised Jetpacks

really good sound, saw them a couple of times last year, promising band as they are all pretty young

i hate the whole concept!

pay to be able to go into different venues to see different bands. It's just a recipe for everyone going to the same place at the same time. You're either going to go to one place and stay there, or get fed up queuing.

And, on the other extreme, it's loads of small bands that all play relatively often (and for less than £15!) anyway!

but

i do love the twilight sad....

Yeah, Twilight Sad are pretty much the only reason i'm going.

Also because i'm taking an irish chick, let her sample some good Scottish music!
