forget you need it to survive, is what you do worth the £?
I seem to be constantly under pressure for my 30k pa and im wondering if id be better else where on less.

worth the sterling pound symbol?
sure why not
I don't understand the question
I hate my job and I get a shit wage. Then again, I'm on here all day. Leaving soon though.
Anyone in London want to give me an entry-level job in publishing or sub-editorial work?
I don't make anything near that
I hate my job so much.
I also love it.
it's a little confusing.
I should be on more
*mumbles something about contracting*
No it ain't
but i'm leaving in a few months to move down south where i'm convinced i'll find a nice job not in a mill or coal mine.
I don't feel like I deserve my wage
though I'm always surprised how much work I actually get through. I'll almost definitely have to take a pay cut when I leave though.
^ This
I get paid too much for doing too little. Not my fault, there just isn't much work around at the minute.
hmm
you'd probably have to work just as hard for less money though.
My job's shit but I get paid OK and the annual leave is very good. If I got a job I enjoyed (unlikely) I would get paid a lot less and get fewer holiday. Such is life.
I dunno about being worth the money
as that's just something that comes with the job, but I've definitely developed as a person since working for this company which makes it worthwhile.
That said, when I'm 40 and no longer making continuous progress I expect I'll run for the hills.
u like progress?
i guess i should have prefixed this with i find all professional related guff guff. :) max pay, min hour, min effort thats my moto.
this is okish pay, 9-5, effort.
i do nothing for the money, but its still not enough
this is the same for everyone, no?
Yeah I reckon so.
Considering that they seem to pay me to go on DiS all the time.
to be honest i'd probably let my boss punch me in the face repeatedly for £30k a year.
You're 26, that's a very decent wage no matter how stressed the job might get you. I'm not saying whether it's worth it or not, only you can decide that but i'd probably put up with it. One in 300 people your age earn over £25k. Fact.
Really?
I thought it would be higher.
probably not
apparently the head of the team i work for (not the team i'm a part of though) has put in a request for me to be moved up a grade. i don't know why. if it happens, which i don't think it will, it'll not only cause a hilarious amount of office politics but further validate me despite the fact that i'm really lazy and largely incompetant.
