Further Glastonbury additions: BBC Introducing stage... introduced
Posted: 30 May '08, 12:44
You may have noticed that this year's Glastonbury Festival has announced a massive haul of bands for this year's shindig, and now here's a few more. The BBC Introducing stage as curated by the likes of Huw Stephens and Annie Mac will host a big fistful of bands each day and will also see Annie Mac presenting her Radio 1 Mash Up show live from the stage as well. There's also promises of special guests and DJs and whatnot.
More to do at Glasto this year, then.

Great.
Out of about 30 bands, the one that I do know and like is on at the same time as The Verve.
-
That said,
this is the sort of stage I'll probably find myself at through the day when everywhere else is Klaxonsed or Gossiped etc.
I wonder whereabouts it will be.
-
It's in the Park field
-
-
Not sure which band you're talking about
...no scheduling to hand... but i don't think that's the final, established running order. plus BBC stage finishes early for bands, I believe...
-
At Bestival it finishes much later
I think Foals were on at about 1.30am last year, or something like that
-
-
-
"Come up with any names, then?"
"Yeah, I think we can really succeed if we call ourselves Grinny Grandad"
-
hahah
They're actually a decent band though, albeit the name... seen them a couple of times.
-
-
sky larkin, fight like apes and jonquil
are all mint.
triple h productions sounds lolworthy -
it's actually The Kabeedies

We haven't been told
what time we're playing yet but if you look at the BBC Introducing site some names are displayed bigger than others so you can pretty much guess the running order. My band The Chapman Family are in a pretty small typeface so I presume that we'll be on pretty early on the friday, nevermind.
One recent reviewer called us "the worst band I've ever seen". Good. If you like whiney middle class indie bands who sing jaunty songs about fancying girls and eating chips on nights out in provincial towns don't come and watch us. If you don't mind being deafened with feedback and listening to lyrics about drowning children and the like, give us a go. Either way, we're chuffed to fuck that we're playing it and if you think we're shit then fine, we're still going to play anyway.
-
Yeah sorry
I just saw a couple of names I didn't like. And I'd missed my lunch. I like your stuff actually. And really, who cares what I think?
-
I wasn't having a go
at you, in all honesty I agree with you, (I was just adding to the end of the thread a shameless plug of my band). There's some utter nonsense on in my opinion but we're just some lowly northerners who'll be on first or second so no one gives a shit anyway. HOWEVER, we are very happy to be playing in the first place as we've had some rotten luck in the past 18 months. Plus I get to see Jay-Z, mint... Hope you got your lunch today.
-
As predicted...
...we'e on first or second at 315pm on friday 27th June.
Come down and watch us smash stuff up. Please.

Such as?
Horrific is a bit over the top, I'd say a couple are just average, but the rest seem pretty good to me, or at least the recodings are. Hearing them live might be a different story altogether.
