sorry, only one i know of..

is the pill... microgynon.. and you just take it straight through and you don't have to fret when you're festivalling/holidaying. sorry, no miracle one off pills i don't think? you'd only need to take it for a month or two and then stop though if you don't want to take it forever!

thanks :D

ill go to the dr later. better get on quickly intime for glasty

xx

ooooh i'm going as well!

funtimes.

there's more than one contraceptive pill.

microgynon is the most common. it's not appropriate for everyone though.

I do know that...

I'm saying it because she didn't want to go on the pill?

this ^

i did it last summer. but then it messed up things so i stopped altogether.

...

Get pregnant. And abort it when you get back.

Yours,
Dr Tunde McKay MD

No.

It takes three months for your body to get used to any contraceptive pill so you can't guarantee you won't still get problems.
They do however help with really bad pains, so maybe you should go on the mini pill anyway, just to calm that down.

oh.

this is bad news.
i do not want my period at glast or any festival at allllllllllllllllllll

reading was hell last year fanks to it.

you can get revenge on L7 though

Throw the used tampon at them.

Yeh.

Doses of hormones that you aren't used to can send you nuts/make you teary/angry too.

Probably not best when you're meant to be having fun.

i never had this problem going on the pill.....

this won't happen to everyone! if anything, alot of people go on the pill to level out their hormones, and make your period more regular (and often less painful too)....

so i wouldn't dismiss it as an option!

get pregnant

You won't have a period for 9 months.

I cant remember the name of it but there is

make an appointment with yr Doc today :)

my friend took it when she went on holiday

we were about 15.

Good luck! I can't imagine doing a festival on a period!

you could just have

the contraceptive injection. works like the pill but instead of daily pills you just have 1 injection every 3 months or so.

you could just have it done once, it's supposed to stop your periods completely but i think it takes a while for the body to adjust so they can be a bit random until then.

make a GPs appointment and they'll take you through all the options.

erm

except that when my friend was on that she basically had her period for months at a time.

this happened

to a girlfriend of mine also. that plan certainly backfired. nor was it my idea either before I get assured of anything. not pleasant in any sense, poor girl :(

yeah.

i've heard not particularly great things about the injection.

I bled for 6 months

and gained 3 stone

so, erm, no.

Oh dear god NO.

my ex-girlfriend used it and it completely fucked up her hormones and things.

i used to borrow some pills off my friend who is on the pill

you're not really supposed to do it and it depends on whether any of your firends have enough/are willing to give you some.
but yeah.

i am

it worked
whats the problem?

Meh

anything like that is fine unless you do it often, really

yeah

thats my school of thought anyway

tell me!

you should really go to your doctor

cos i don't really know of anything that will just stop it for a week.

try the minipill, it only has one hormone in it i think, you take it daily and can stop your period altogether, though apparently you can experience light bleeding.

If you're not already on the pill

I wouldn't go on it now, considering that the festival is in a few weeks and it won't work by then anyway.

The mooncup is good if you're out and about for long stints as you only need to empty it every 6-7 hours and don't need to carry tampons around with you. www.mooncup.co.uk/

I bet

it did.

Well more the concept of one

My mate's girlfriend was horrified at the concept so we used it in every reference possible - my pint's overflowing like a mooncup etc.

My fave was that CSS endorsed mooncups because TSS SUXXX!

That is hilarious

It's actually a good invention, but very weird.

It's actually

not that easy to get it out, much to my alarm first time.. I cannot believe I am talking about this here.

just slum it babe

you'll be at a festival anyway

exactly

doubley uncomfortable and icky feeling.
no-one likes feeling dirty.
plus if she gets bad period pains then she WONT be having fun.

not a good idea, no

being a girl must be a pain in the bum sometimes

you can

it's called Utovlan (I think) and you take it three days before your period is due. You take it three time a day and your period will start a couple of days after you finish.

oh wait!!

i remember now! about 6 years ago, i took a pill that stops your period completely for that month. you take it on the first day of your period (and possibly for each day after for a few days?? can't remember...) and it stops completely.

only thing was.. for me.. my next period skipped.. and then the one after that was HORRENDOUSLY painful..crippling agony. (might be a coincidence...errr) but speak to your doctor about it. it does exist.

if I skip a month

I end up nearly dying on the next!

i've skipped before a few times with no worries..

and never have i experienced that agony, as i did after taking those drugs....

There are non-contraceptive hormone pills available.

I took some once a couple of years ago when on holiday. I didn't go to the docs til the day before I left (and I was due on during that holiday) and the pills worked fine.

Be warned though, you will probably get the worst period ever when you come off of it.

there's also a new IUD

called The Marina (sp?) Anyway it stops your period for a whole year. A mate of mine works in Sex education and she says it's the best form of contraception to date.

You could just man up!

I mean, how hard can it be to smile. We've all had tummy ache.

now you can have sex with TRSTN without getting his willy all covered in menstrual blood!
*high five*
*dance*

i dunno but

I do recommend bringing a supply of plastic bags, so that you can put everything you own inside a plastic bag inside your normal bag.

I had a bad experience when someone lobbed a pint and I went to put in a new tampon only to find they were all beer-soaked.

*imagine

some imaging would be good as well though.

stupid drunk men might not be so keen on throwing it

wouldn't have the same manly image.

i walked past a lamp post the other day.

and there was a used pad stuck to it.

Unpleasant.

I walked past a house the other day

and there was a used pad stuck on the front door handle.

Unpleasant.

I walked past a girl the other day

and there was a used pad stuck to her face.

Unpleasant.

I was spying on a lady in the toilet yesterday

and there was a used pad stuck to her undercarriage.

Unpleasant.

I read that as haemorrhage at first.

That would have been worse.

my best friends

art a level piece was tampons dipped in red paint.
Unpleasant x's 10000000

Why have tampons

become the in-thing in art? Is it the shock value? There were tampon adverts on national TV in the 80s. The world's a bit harder to shock now.

i think she

tries to hard at art, to be shocking and zaney.
oh well

cant you just take the morning after pill

a week before or something? flush you right out

Is an answer still required for this?

Because the answer is YES! YES THERE IS! See your GP about it.

You can

get a pill from your GP that delays your period for a few days. I know this because a girl I did Duke of Edinburgh with took it as she didn't want her period whilst doing D of E . It seemed to work.

Buy some

feminax & nurofen to deal with the pain

I would recommend you ask for "Norethisterone"
It is literally the shit!
http://xpil.medicines.org.uk/ViewPil.aspx?DocID=18751

********Norethisterone is also used to postpone a period.**************

If you go for a pill ask for one that doesn't produce "breakthrough" bleeding.
i.e microgynon E.D

Thank you please

i went

and the lady gave me some norethisterone which is apparently used to cure breast cancer and has some delightful side effects :D
